Smoldering Rage

When Ash's other Pokémon heard the news about Greninja, they all took it hard. But by far, Talonflame took it the hardest. Not counting Pikachu, she and Greninja were the first in the family, and they know each other best. While Hawlucha and Greninja were brotherly warriors, Talonflame and Greninja were the guardians in the family, she as the sentry and he as the team ace. They understood each other. Talonflame felt the rage and anger bubble in her chest as she, Hawlucha, and Noivern comforted Ash and themselves. It took every ounce of self control she had not to fly into the sky and search for her missing 'brother.' She could've sworn she heard Ash mutter to himself that it was his fault that Greninja was captured. How he should've been stronger and protected him.

"You shouldn't blame yourself, Ash." She chirped. "This was by no means your fault."

"Talonflame's right, Ash!" Pikachu added. "Lucien is the one at fault here, not you."

Ash nodded sadly. "You're right. I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for snapping me out of it. We need to be thinking of a rescue plan. Who knows what Lucien is doing to Greninja."

All four of them nodded.

Talonflame noticed that everyone looked sad, as they all heard what happened. Just like Talonflame, the ones who were taking it hard were Braixen and Noivern. Greninja and Braixen were very close. It was just like how Serena and Ash were. It wasn't a secret that they clearly liked each other. Noivern on the other hand, looked up to Greninja, due to being the baby of the family.

Talonflame swore that when they rescued Greninja, she was going to rain down fire on those who caused him harm.

Suddenly, Ash groaned as he grabbed his right arm tightly. Immediately, his Pokémon rushed towards his aid.

"Ash! What's wrong?!" Noivern cried.

"Sí, Ash, what's the matter with your arm?" Hawlucha added.

"It's not me, guys. I'm okay. That was-!" Ash stopped mid sentence, before going silent, eyes wide with shock and relief. "That was Greninja." He finished.

Cries of outrage and horror echoed around him, but Ash didn't hear any of it. All he cared about was that the connection between himself and Greninja had been restored. Ash didn't exactly know how, but he was grateful nonetheless.

Hopefully, Greninja knew this too.
