After the incredibly over-the-top breakfast, people began to slowly disperse back to their dorm rooms. Me and my new-found friends were some of the last left in the hall. Eleanor joined us on our table and I introduced her to Vivienne and the others. Thankfully, they all befriended her without too many questions. Her father was brought up a couple of times but each time Viv shot whoever started it a sharp look and they shut up immediately. She was clearly someone with a lot of influence: definitely stay on her good side.

Eventually conversations came to an end and me and Ellie decided to head back to our dorms. We chattered and laughed all the way back. It was freezing but we barely noticed. We came to a right-hand turn and I caught sight of the girl Eleanor was ogling at in the dining hall. She was walking in our direction. I gave Ellie a nudge and nodded towards the girl. Ellie blushed and grabbed my arm, hurriedly turning the other way, practically dragging me with her.

Omg!  It's her! God, she looked beautiful. She had her face buried in a book and the wind blew her dark tendrils over her deep brown eyes. The cold stained her cheeks a rosy pink. She was perfection.

And I ran away!?! God Ellie you're such an idiot. I hope she didn't see that. I sighed, frustrated...and embarrassed.

I laughed at her flustered expression.

"You'll never have a chance if you do that every time we see her."

Ellie groaned and rolled her eyes, more frustrated at herself than at me.

"Next time, we speak to her." I insisted. She was clearly completely in lust with this girl, and understandably so. She was gorgeous to be fair.

When we got back to our dorms, we hugged goodbye and parted ways until lunchtime. As I reached down to my door handle, I paused. There was something on it. Something hanging on the doorknob. I couldn't quite make it out in the low light of the hallway. Ellie noticed my hesitance and intense staring at my door handle. She reached her head round curiously.

"Lumos." she said, waving her wand in my general direction. Immediately the area lit up and I got a better view of what it was: a little black, silky-looking drawstring bag with silver thread twisted into the strings. We looked at each other then back to the bag.

"Open it then!!" She gave me light nudge. I snapped out of my dazed confusion and untied the bag from the handle.

"Oo, Mokeskin! That's expensive!" Ellie exclaimed with exaggerated excitement.

"Mokeskin? What on god's green earth is that?"

"Put your hand in."

I reached in and my almost my whole forearm went in.

"Oh my- What the hell?!" Ellie laughed at my unknowing confusion.

"See, Mokeskin." I let out a slightly put off 'hm'. I reached down a bit further. My hand met a shoebox sized parcel and a smaller, velvet box. I pulled out the tiny box first.

I handed the bag to Ellie and carefully slid the lid off the box. Inside was a think silver ring. I was hesitant, but then it clicked.

"Oh my god. That boy, the blonde one who was sat with- or underneath- Pansy." Ellie interrupted me with a shocked whisper-shout.

"Draco?! Draco Malfoy!? Nope, we're going inside."

She pushed my dorm door open and shuffled us both inside. We sat facing each other on the end of my bed, huddled around the bag. I looked closer at the ring.
