I woke up what seemed like hours later to a heavy weight on my arm. Still half asleep, I forced my eyelids open to try to wake myself up. Although it was rather unsuccessful, I was able to make myself aware of my surroundings enough to realize something was different.

When my eyes finally adjusted to the lack of light, I realized that Cubbie's breathing wasn't the steady rhythm it had been when I fell asleep. My heart skipped a beat as I sat up quickly to see him. Thank god he was okay. Actually, he was better than okay. His eyes were open, but he wasn't saying anything.

"Oh, thank you, God." I whispered under my breath as I smiled down at him. His eyes darted over and met mine and I knew I wasn't dreaming. "I'll be right back, I need to get the doctor." I said quietly and went to stand up. He smiled as much as he could under the circumstances.

I ran out of the room and to the nurse's station. Unfortunately none of the nurses there were ones that I knew. I told them what had happened and one went into the room with Cubbie and the other went to find Dr. Shay.

While the nurses were in the room, I waited patiently outside for them. I couldn't call the guys or Rebecca, it was three in the morning. They'd want to know, but it can wait until morning. There's been a lack of sleep around here, so they need all the sleep they can get.

"Calliegh!" Shellie came running down the hall from the elevators.

"Shellie?" I smiled as she ran up to me.

"I heard Cubbie's awake. That's so great!"

"How'd you hear?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I was in the break room making coffee and one of the nurses came running in and told us the last bus accident victim was awake."

I felt the corners of my mouth twitch up into an involuntary smile. Just hearing about the last of the bus accident victims being awake made my heart soar. I know they're all safe, I know everything is going to be alright.

"Are you going to call his wife and the others?" Shellie asked wen I didn't respond to her first statement.

"When the sun rises later. I don't want to wake them up."

"That's nice of you." Shellie smiled. "Well, I'm going in to check on him, okay?" She turned to walk into ICU.

I stayed there, just relieved that now he was going to be okay. Practically throwing myself down in a chair, I slumped down in it. Not for the normal reason, but out of relief.

"Miss Martin?" Dr. Shay quietly walked out the ICU about twenty minutes later. The other nurses trailing behind her and taking off down the hall in the opposite direction of me.

"Dr. Shay! Yes?" I stood up a little too quickly and got that awful dizzy feeling. My head was swimming and I nearly fell over. Luckily I caught myself before I could fall over. This wasn't embarrassing at all.

"Don't hurt yourself." Dr. Shay chuckled. Her attitude towards me had totally changed. I don't know what possessed her to cause the change, but I'm not going to argue. "Well, I wanted to talk to you about Mr. Fink."

"Oh, of course." I nodded.

"He's stable, but we need to keep him here for longer than the rest for observation. I don't want to dismiss him too quickly and something bad happens."
