After the announcement of the battle, Y/n had gone to hiding in their closet.

They'd barely come out, only for a bite or two of something to eat.

Every time someone reminded them of the battle, they felt like throwing up.

"I can't fight," They'd say to Maki, "I don't know how to fight."

Inizu would pipe in at this time, "Well it's your fault for stealing papers." To which Maki would force the old woman out of the room.

Y/n only wanted to help people. The Decrees their mother made were horrid.

They never understood the 'eternity' behind them. It hurt the people more than it prevented the erosion of the passing time.

Today was no different than the days in the past.

Their neck ached from falling asleep inside of the closet, and they slowly opened the door to crawl back out of it.

The sun just barely shined outside of their room; how long had they been asleep?

Y/n cautiously stood up, wiping the dust off of their outfit and carefully creeping around the room.

They needed a weapon for the battle, didn't they?

But how does one get a weapon...

They didn't know how to fight (they could ask Ren to teach them later), they just knew how to channel. Perhaps a catalyst?

Y/n had read somewhere that a catalyst had many forms, and had even seen people wielding everything from broken orbs, to seashell-ed crescents, to books.

They knew one book that fit the title.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Surprisingly, the library was still unlocked as it was years before.

Y/n nearly gave a scream at the spiders around them, but they knew the faster they found the book the faster they could get out.

They crossed their fingers the book hadn't been removed after the incident years prior, and ran their hands along the spines of the books.

The book stook out like a sore thumb on the table, it's title glistening in the early morning sun.

The Seven Nations of Tevyat; A Look On How The Land Thrives on Culture and Its People.

The first time they'd been read a book about the outside world.

The first time they'd witnessed "The Battle Before The Throne".

The day they nearly lost Ren...

Their eyes drifted over the cover once more, and they realized there was a pink bookmark inside of the pages.

They opened the book and flipped to the page it was attached to.

A familiar handwriting laid on it's Sakura bloom designs in fine black ink.

'Dear Y/n,

I know I haven't been present all this time, which is partly due to taking up as a writer in my free time and being the Guuji.

Ever since I heard about your friend Ren I couldn't help but feel bad.

You will notice marks over these pages; those are from Ren. I stole his copy from when he was a child~.
