II.

(Y/N P.O.V)

As we step out of the hospital, the cool, crisp air hits me. I sigh a little and take a deep breath, feeling refreshed. Kakashi chuckles at me softly seeing my reaction and I just roll my eyes at him.

We begin walking side by side through Konoha. The towns people greeting us every once and a while. It was nice being back. Quite a bit has changed since I had last been here. All of the damage done by Kyuubi had been fixed, many new houses and shops had replaced the burnt down and destroyed ones.

I'm glad they were able to rebuild everything back up again. I think to myself.

Soon we arrived at Ichiraku Ramen. The little ramen shop was charming. Kakashi walks ahead of me and takes rest on a little stool. I follow after him and taking a seat next to him.

The owner of the ramen comes out from the back and smiles at us both. "Hello Kakashi" The man says and looks over at me, "Now who might you be miss? I don't think I have ever seen you around before."

"I'm (Y/N)" I speak up smiling a little, "I only recently came back to Konohagakure. It is nice to meet you."

He gives me a closed eye smile, "Well Miss (Y/N) I'm Teuchi Ichiraku, I'm the owner of Ichiraku Ramen, it is nice to meet you" he looks at us both, "what can I get you today?"

Just as Kakashi spoke up to answer a boy with blonde, spikey hair, and whiskers runs over to us; his blue eyes dashing back and forth between Kakashi and I.

A grin spreads across his face "Is she your girlfriend!?!" The boy practically yells. I blink as i feel slight blush spread across my face and shake my head astonished by the boy's reaction. He frowns and crosses his arms at my response.

Kakashi then speaks up "No, this is my close friend (y/n)" he smiles through his mask, "she has recently returned to the village after being gone for around 12 years" he says. A sigh of relief escapes my lips and I smile to myself, hm, close friend huh? I'm glad he didn't say what actually happened though.

"Woah" he says "welcome back then!" He perks up "I have an idea! Since we are all here together now, Kakashi can treat us both to some ramen as a welcoming gift from me!" He has the biggest grin on his face. I like this kid. I chuckle softly as Kakashi groans and rubs the back of his head in defeat.

"Fine, take a seat Naruto" Mr. Ichiraku laughs, "It is always a pleasure to have you here young Naruto."

"Now" He speaks again, "What can I get for you all?"

Naruto then quickly speaks up, "Can I get one Miso Chashu Pork ramen, with extra pork please!" The man then looks to Kakashi.

I sit patiently and listen to what he orders. It was nice just being here. I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time.

"One Char Siu Pork ramen please" the man then looks over to me.

"Uhm I'll just have the same thing as Kakashi" I say. I did not really know what to order. Kakashi picked up onto that quickly and chuckles at me as Ichiraku writes down our orders on a piece of paper and walks into the back of the restaurant.

We sat in silence until a few minutes later when the ramen came out. It smells so good. I think to myself, it has been so long since I have last had a decent meal. "Let's eat!" Naruto says and begins chowing down on his ramen.

Naruto had finished his noodles at an immense speed. It was kind of funny watching him slurp up all of his noodles within a matter of seconds.

"So, Naruto," I speak after finishing my noodles, "Tell me a bit about yourself." I smile at him.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki. My hobby is eating different kinds of ramen and comparing them, and my future dream is to be the greatest Hokage! Then the whole village will stop disrespecting me and start treating me like I'm somebody. Somebody important!" He says with confidence and determination.

That's cute. I thought to myself unable to help but smiling more at him. He seemed familiar to me, but from what?

"Hokage hm? You must be very determined to do so. You must be working really hard?" I ask looking over at Kakashi who is slowly eating his ramen.

"Yeah! I train a lot! Me, Sasuke, and Sakura are apart of Team 7! Kakashi is such a great Sensei, he has taught us a lot!" His enthusiasm warmed my heart, wishing I was this outgoing as a kid.

Sasuke... He was only a few months old when I was taken, so he doesn't even know me, and only 7 when Itachi killed the whole clan.. I wonder how Sasuke has grown up and been affected because of this. He must have felt so alone.

Shaking off those thoughts I speak up again, "Well, I'm sure one day you will make and excellent Hokage someday Naruto" I smile at him and he gasps with excitement.

"Really!? You really think so?" His eyes seem to shine at the thought of someone encouraging his dream.

"Of course!" I say as he pokes Kakashi, "Did you hear that Kakashi Sensei?! (Y/N) think I will make and excellent Hokage someday!" Kakashi nods finishing his ramen and pats him on the shoulder, "She is indeed correct Naruto"

Blondie gets up from his stool and begins pumping his fists up in the air, "I will become the greatest Hokage ever dattebayo!"

After we finished our food Kakashi had sent Naruto home and reminded him to be up early and ready for practice tomorrow at 8am.

"Will..Will I be able to see Sasuke today?" I ask a bit nervous I may be able to see my little brother again.

Kakashi studies my face, his dark eyes staring back at mine. I tilt my head a little as he speaks, " Are you sure you are ready to meet him? You haven't seen Sasuke since he was born, and he is already 13 years old now."

Has it really been that long.? I swallow the lump in my throat and Kakashi places his hand gently on my head, ruffling my (h/l), (h/c) hair taking me out of my thoughts. I could see a soft smile from through his mask, "Deep breaths (Y/N) things will be okay, l will be there the whole time if you need me." His words made me feel warm inside. I really appreciate all he is doing for me right now.

Looking up at him I nod, "Thank you Kakashi."

"No problem" he says and off we go, walking through the village once more. The leaves rustling gently with the wind as the sun begins to set. I take a deep breath and sigh softly. Time to finally see Sasuke again.

(Y/N): 23, almost 24
Itachi: 18 years (he is approximately 8 years younger than Kakashi canonically)
Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura: around 12 and 13 years

currently the story is currently taking place around the time of the Chunin exams.
i hope this helps get a just of the timeline and where (Y/N) fits into place.
also, if there are any writing errors i am so sorry, i tend to write these really late at night
i don't really have like a set-in stone updating schedule, I just write and update at random. i will definitely try my best to release new chapters as fast as possible!
