RESTING TIME ISN'T A PROPER REST

As Sol sat on the ground, under the tree, she looked around, around the forest that she had just come out of. Her landing wasn't as normal as always. Normally, she would land exactly where she wanted to. She had aimed for the area out of the forest, beside the river, for today. But this time, her chariot landed right in the middle of the forest and burned all the trees there. She had to stop herself from glowing or she would have started a forest fire.

This isn't new for the Sun goddess. She has to be on the run every morning. Skoll is always behind her all day, and as the hours pass, the wolf gets tired and rests. As soon as Sol turns and doesn't see him, she knows she gets to rest for the night. This is how it goes on till the end of the week, and then, she starts again, the very next day's first light. She looked at her Rolex watch to see the time. Six-thirty pm.  Good timing overall. Skoll must have gone into hiding too. She looked up into the sky. Now that the Sun was down, it was getting dark. In about an hour, her brother would be beginning his journey on the run, and behind him would be Skoll's brother, Hati.

No. Skoll and Hati weren't playing Ring around the Roses with her and Mani. They were eternal enemies. They wanted to eat the divine siblings, and are prophesied to succeed one day. That day, when Sol knows she would die, would be the day of doom.

However, Sol knew that this time of the night would be her only resting time all day, until the dreaded cat and mouse chase began again. So, she got up. Her plan? To find the best place to spend the evening. However, as soon as she was about to sit on her chariot, a firm and heavy voice called, "Duty calls, Sol."

Sol didn't even need to turn. As soon as the man said his words, lightning flashed in the sky. "Thor." She asked, "How did you get here without me noticing? Don't you always have an entourage when you go somewhere?"

"I feel a storm coming, Sol." Thor walked towards her, "And that is why, before it comes, we must be ready."

"How can I find the person?"

"I'll narrow it down. The person will be fro..."

"I know where they are from. Though, I seriously don't understand why Mani got to choose his away from there."

"Norns and their complicated prophecies." Thor said, his big brutish figure intimidating yet surprisingly calm.

"How are you doing?" Sol asked him, "It is weird how calm you've gotten. That is very unlike you, thunder god."

"Situation changes a person, lady."

"What is it that you fear?"

"I have no idea. But something big is going to happen. I don't know why but we might not see each other for a while. And so, before that happens, I suggest you get the work done."

"I should go now, then. Once the first light shows up, I'm on the run again."

"Well, that doesn't seem to be a problem." Thor said, looking around, "You are in India anyway. Just avoid the tigers inside the forests. Ranthambore has quite a few of them."

"I'll teleport, Thor."

"Good luck, Sol."

"Thanks."

Sol looked around, and concentrated on the city that was mentioned in the words of the Norns. Pankhpur. The winged city, as her kin called it now. She had heard terrifying stories about the city from them, how it was a highly resourceful area, and how it was run by a drug mafia once, and was the most sinful city in all nine worlds, harassing and killing women left, right and centre. And after Thor's champion had overthrown the drug mafia and freed people of Pankhpur, the city was finally spreading its wings and flying. There was also another city named by the Norns, Vespasa. That little city had a big link to Pankhpur, of course. It had links to the ancestors of Freya's champion. Despite being so far from the original Norse countries of Midgard, things seemed to be tied to different threads perfectly. Now, Sol needed find what her thread was holding for her. She closed her eyes, imagined what Pankhpur would be like, and when she opened her eyes again, the forest around was gone. She stood right in the middle of a busy market, beside a fountain. There were shops around. There was a cafe a little further, with such a nice name: 'Sunshine'.

Just as she was about to start chanting the tracking spell, she heard a familiar voice inside her head, "Good luck finding the one, Sun goddess." The voice ran a shiver down her spine, but Sol was a goddess. She needed only a second to get over it. But the voice was something she couldn't ever shake off of her life. For the owner of that, and she were intertwined very well. It was Skoll, her all-time adversary. The little dingo sometimes got into her head to act intimidating. And all Sol could come up with was calling him a dingo, which he felt really insulted by.
