As the title states, The Dragon and the Otome Candidate, is based in an otome yandere world. For those who don't know what otome is, it's basically a game geared toward the player choosing which candidate they'll want to have their happily ever after. Except this one has a twist.
Some Keywords to consider:
Otome Game: "story-based video game that is targeted towards women. Generally one of the goals, besides the main plot goal, is to develop a romantic relationship between the female player character and one of several male characters." (wikipedia)
FL: Female Lead
Heroine: Usually referred to as the FL in the game/story.
Candidate: Refers to one of the many romantic interests available for the player.
Villainess: Usually referred to as the one that blocks the FL from one or two of the candidates using creative bullying measures.
** Other Half: YES PEEPS! In this world, the other half is referred to as the person's dragon or dragon's person (wink wink, kinda like a handler and it's pet, but eh, no romantic interest between the two, and the "pet" freaking growls/flies/have scales).
Yandere: "A yandere is often sweet, caring, and innocent before switching into someone who displays an extreme, often violent or psychotic, level of devotion to a love interest," (dictionary.com).
A bit of warning for those new to the genre, DO NOT TAKE INTO THE WORLD A YANDERE AS AN ABSOLUTE ROMANTIC! In other words, don't take it in as a positive perspective into your own relationships.. It can end in violence...
So in this fantasy fictional world, a yandere in a bad ending could typically place the FL in house arrest to more submissive sadistic measures that I would try to tip-toe around and not go toooo far into.
