INT. ON SET - DAY

Frank Sinatra dances behind the camera with his good friend, Jimmy Durante.

"--If the song comes from the heart!"

The director yells, "Cut! That's a wrap!"

The crew starts breaking down the set for the day.

Frank Sinatra wanders outside with his hands in his pockets. His reaches his trailer, looks at the door, and sighs. He looks from side to side and slumps away to another trailer.

He climbs up the stairs, turns the doorknob and steps inside.

INT. TRAILER - CONTINUOUS

A young lady standing in front of a vanity organizing makeup products gasps and turns around. "I thought you wouldn't be coming in for the rest of the day."

"I changed my mind, Jane," Sinatra says, staring at the floor.

"What's the matter?"

Frank sits in a chair. He stares at Jane. She coughs quietly to break the silence. Frank looks down at the floor again. "Never mind. It isn't important."

Jane walks up to him with a concerned look on her face. She puts a hand on his shoulder, "Please tell me."

Frank looks up at her. "I can't quite seem to say what I'm feeling." After a few seconds, he starts to quietly sing:

I can see a steeple - surrounded by people
Oh how real it all starts to seem
Just as the choir is singing - my alarm starts ringing
It's the same old dream.

Frank stops, still looking at Jane.

"It's a lovely song, Frank. Isn't that one of the songs for this film?"

"Yes, it is. But you aren't listening."

"What?"

Frank closes his eyes and continues:

And then my thoughts inspire - a scene by a fire
In a cottage close by a stream
I know it all by heart now - we're about to part now
It's the same old dream.

Jane sits down in the other chair.

Frank opens his eyes but continues to sing:

If you but knew
How many times I pretend - that I'm with you
I'm sure your heart would unbend - you'd see me through
Until my dream had a happy ending.

And I can picture clearly - the things I love dearly
In the center you reign supreme
We kiss and I discover - I'm a lonesome lover
It's the same old dream.

Jane leans forward. "Do you need help improving your voice? Because I'm not the right person to help you--"

Frank stands up and grabs Jane's hands. He pulls her to her feet. They stand together, their noses almost touching.

"You're not listening close enough, Jane."

Jane's eyes widen as she finally catches on. Before she can say anything, she's swept away by Frank kissing her.

Jane tries to push away and Frank lets her.

"Frank, we can't--"

"Jane--"

"No, Frank. You listen now. We have a strictly professional relationship. If you feel a certain way about me... well, it just won't work."

Frank puts his hands in his pockets again. "I understand."

Jane walks out of the trailer, leaving Frank alone with his thoughts.
