Prologue...
She watched as her meal held a knife to the girl's neck. The girl was begging for release, something the male was not willing to give.
'Well, now. Can't lose a chance for a quick bite. Might as well speed things up a bit."
"You know, most men are polite enough to give the victim their name. Apparently that doesn't appeal to you, does it Lad?" Her Scottish accent held a dark note as she emerged from the shadows.
The man dropped the girl and started for her.
'That's it... Closer...'
She feigned terror. "Oh, no! A little pocket knife!" Fangs emerged from their hiding place. "I hope you know how effective that'll be on a vamp, Lad."
She bit his neck before he could register her words. 'Bleh... Tastes of alcohol...'
The remaining girl appeared frightened.
The vamp finished her meal and looked up. "It's alright, Lassie. I only take the lives of black-hearted creatures like this one. Get home safely, Lass. Not all vamps are kindly like me." She prepared to leave.
"W-wait, please, tell me your name."
She grinned and tossed her a playing card. "Call the name if you need help."
The card was the Ace of Spades. Written on it in fine cursive was 'The Fanged Guardian'.

"Reports of a mysterious protector have been popping up all over Mobius City, each ending up with a rescued victim and a dead attacker. Witnesses say-"
The burnt ocher hedgehog turned off the TV with a sigh. The ebony and crimson one next to her chuckled. "Nothing good on, Moon?"
Moon looked at him. "I don't like the sound of that person, Shadow. They kill Mobians!"
"I dunno, Tsuki. Seems cool ta me."
Said hedgegirl looked at the window. A little white boy tiger with maroon stripes and startling silver eyes was sitting there with a fanged grin.
"Hello to you too, Fang." Moon grabbed his wrist, dragging him inside. "Get in before you get cold."
Shadow snickered at her actions. Ever since he and his girlfriend found the boy in the ghetto, Moon was extremely overprotective of him.
"Fang's perfectly fine, Moon. You need to relax. He has to spread those maroon wings sometime on his own. At least he got here without hitting anything."
Fang grinned. "Thanks, Kage. Anyway, I've heard a lot about the Fanged Guardian from my team. I'm going back into town to see if I can find anything. Later!" He spread his bat-like wings and took off into the sky.
Moon huffed and sat next to Shadow. "Do you really have to encourage him like that?"
"Of course, Tsuki." Shadow pecked her cheek.
