Once Upon A Part Time Job... (fluff Gorou x fem reader)

Coffee Date

A/N: My first time writing a fic I hope u enjoy it! Also sorry if u don't like coffee and love math. I wanted to write this bc i hardly see gorou fluff, so this is for you wholesome people out there <3 

It was a mid afternoon and you were almost done finishing your last class. It was your least favorite subject, math, and wanted to get it over with. You hated how it asked for dumb stuff you couldn't see yourself doing. All you had to do in the future was pay taxes, right? Not only that, but you weren't a big fan of your teacher, Mr. Zhongli. He was a good guy and quite handsome, but sometimes he would get carried away and start randomly ramble about boring stuff. 

Your friend Gorou made it more bearable though. He was kind, helpful, and a bit cute too. You weren't super close with him, but you sat next to him in many classes so you end up talking to him. Without him, you would probably be failing right now. The way he explains things just blows your mind. 

He's also how you met Kazuha. He and Kazuha are childhood friends, so they know each other well. Kazuha is super sweet and is someone you can count on. He's also extremely talented at playing the flute. 

"Alright, class is over. I will see you all next week." 

"Thank the Lord!!!" you sighed as you quickly started packing your things. 

"Haha, it's not that bad. Also wanna hang out somewhere? Kazuha has a work interview today." 

"Oh uhm, I actually start my new job today... it's at a coffee place," you sheepishly replied. 

"Oh really? That's cool. What coffee place?" 

"It's called Starducks, not too far from here" 

"Yo, you work there too? I started working there a few days ago! We can go there together." Gorou enthusiastically said with a sparkle in his eyes. You could see his tail wiggle a little bit. It was too cute. 

"Awesome! Let's go" You were so happy you would at least know one person there.

Once you got to the coffee shop, Gorou went to go change into his work clothes. You took a good look at the place before going to go change. It has small wooden tables with windows as walls next to the entrance. The place had an overall warm and cozy atmosphere. Once you got familiar with where things were you went to go change and start work. 

"If you need help with anything, let me know! I'll help to the best of my ability," Gorou said with much confidence. 

"Thanks Gorou, it means a lot," you smiled at him and he smiled back. 

You got the hang of things pretty quickly and it was a lot more fun since you talked to Gorou while there were no customers in line. 

"It's 6 pm so our shift should be over now," 

"Good because I'm getting hungry!" you said while stretching. 

"Wanna make some coffee for ourselves and eat some of the snacks? They let us do that here"

"Really? Heck yeah, that's awesome!" 

You and Gorou got some coffee and took a few snacks. You mainly grabbed a bunch of (f/sn) because you loved their texture and flavor. Then you both walked into the break room. It was a simple table with a few chairs and a window on the back wall. (If you watched Blend S it looks like that one) 

"Haha you must love those, you took a bunch!" Gorou cheerfully exclaimed. 

"Ah yeah, I loved them since I was a kid." 

You both started munching away happily. It felt nice to be in each other's presence. You loved coffee and finished it hastily. Gorou was still finishing up his snacks before really starting to drink his coffee. You then started talking about school and hobbies you enjoy. 

"Mrs. Miko is terrifying, I would enjoy literature a lot more if we had a different teacher..." Gorou said while blushing a bit. You could tell it was an insecurity for him.

"Really? She's not that bad. I'm interested in how knowledgeable she is in creating a good story." 

"Hmm yeah but I don't know. It's just the way she stares at you and the way she talks. It makes me feel like all my secrets have been exposed." 

"Ah is that so.. well I'll be here for you! No need to worry about Mrs. Miko, y/n is unstoppable!" 

"Haha thanks y/n, I'm glad you will. I'm also always here for you if you ever need anything!" 

"Thanks Gorou, I'm glad we met each other." 

"Of course! I'm glad too" You both stared at each other in the eyes for a bit, and then blushed looking away. 

You both were then quiet for a bit, minds starting to roam about random ideas. Until an idea came to you...

"This almost feels like a..." You immediately stopped yourself realizing what you were about to say. You didn't want to turn this into something Gorou didn't mean for it to be. Besides, you two were just friends...

"Date?" He asked with pure innocence. 

"Uhm-"

"Sorry! That may not have been what you were thinking, please don't get the wrong idea-" 

"No no! Don't worry uhm that's actually what I was thinking.." 

"Then it could be one if you want, I don't mind," He said with a blush forming across his face. He looked towards his coffee unable to make eye contact. 

"Really? I wouldn't mind either" you replied slightly quiet. 

what am I saying?? well if he's fine with it it shouldn't be a big deal right? 

You looked at the time and saw that it was 8 pm. 

"Oh crap, it's getting late. I should go now, sorry to leave all of a sudden." you said with disappointment in your tone. 

"No it's okay! Let me walk you home, it's not good to walk home alone at night." 

"Aw thanks, is it raining outside? I didn't bring an umbrella with me" 

"What? Did you check the forecast? It started pouring around 7:30" 

Well shoot, you normally don't check the weather since it's sunny most of the time.  It was also weird because you didn't notice the sound of rain until now. 

"Well it's ok, we can share my umbrella," Gorou said while trying to cheer you up. 

That made your heart beat fast. Gorou was usually this nice, so why does it feel different all of a sudden? Is it because you two were outside of school? Whatever the reason was, you simply thanked him and packed your stuff to head outside.

Walking in the rain with Gorou under the same umbrella sure was quite the experience. It felt calming in a way. The way your feet splashed together. The way the rain would drop on top and then slide down the ends of the umbrella. The gloomy yet peaceful atmosphere of the gray clouds in the sky. Every now and then you'd take a glance at Gorou. You never realized how good- looking he was. His brown-reddish hair and green-blue eyes, much like the sea above a coral reef.  And without you knowing, Gorou would sneak some glances at you too. 

There was a small step covered in water that you didn't see. As you took your step you began to slip and fall unable to catch yourself. Right before falling face first, Gorou grabs your hand and pulls you up to balance. 

"Are you ok? That could've been some serious damage!" Gorou said with a worried expression painted on his face. 

"Uhm yeah I'm fine, thank you so much. Without you, I would've gotten seriously hurt" 

"Don't worry, that's what I'm here for" He said smiling down at you. A loving gaze in his eyes.

You blushed but tried to hide it, hoping that the darkness wouldn't make it visible. Gorou never let go of your hand, but you didn't mind it. 

After some more walking, you arrived at your apartment. 

"Thanks for walking me home and catching me from falling. It means a lot, I guess I'll see you tomorrow at work?" 

"Yup! See you later!" 

Before he left you on your own, he patted your head and whispered in your ear

"I wouldn't mind going on another date like this." 

And with that he was off to his apartment, leaving you a blushing mess.
