The Letter

It was the last hour of the day, and I was ready to go home. It was Friday and the week had just dragged on. The teacher just kept banking on and on. I was lost in my own thoughts, just trying to not fall asleep. The next thing I know the bell rings, just the thing I wanted to hear.

I made a straight line to my locker, grabbed all the things I need for the weekend and left the hell hole I would have to return to before I wanted to.

I walked out of the building to my little red car, threw my things in the trunk, hopped in, and blasted the radio. I pulled out of my space and waited 5 minutes to leave the busy parking lot. Then I made my 10 minute voyage home.

When I got home my mom was standing by the door with an envelope in her hand.

"Hi honey! How was school today?"

"Fine, boring as usual."

"That's too bad, here this came in the mail for you today." She told me as she handed me the envelope addressed to me.

I grabbed the envelope, and looked at it. It was fancy, and sure enough right on the front it had my name and my address. I was almost afraid to open it. But of course curiosity killed the cat, and I opened the envelope. I stood in shock. It read:

Dear Alexandra,

I know it might seem weird and impossible, but I have been doing some research on you, and chosen you to join me in marriage.

I have recently just got out of an engagement with another women and things didn't work out for the best.

She was royalty as well. Things just weren't right and I figured I needed a normal average person to marry instead.

You are normal and average enough, but you don't seem to boring to live with. In fact after doing much research, I realized I have fallen in love with you, and that is even more reason I want to be with you.

I will be in town for a little bit and would love for you to come see me, we can bond and talk about things. Hopefully you will agree and join me in marriage.

Yours truly,
Prince Spencer

I looked to my mom, gave her my letter and headed to my room, not knowing what to think. How could someone I have never met want to marry me?
