After a scolding from Professor Marauder, and an order to go to Professor McGonagall's office, James left the dungeons to find Lily. He didn't know exactly what he would tell her, but he knew he just had to find her. James spent quite a bit of time running around the school, desperately looking for a sign of long red hair. After about a good hour of searching he finally found her outside the girl's washrooms on the third floor, and she was with Snivellus.
Oh how he hated that boy, and he hadn't even properly introduced himself to him yet.
"Oh how can I possibly get this stupid potion out of your hair!" cried Lily while desperately trying to scrub Snape's head with a cloth.
"I-It's alright Lily...he's just an arrogant bloke." replied Snape.
"Oh no it's not! she cried, I just can't believe that James Potter! How jealous can a person be?"
There was that word again...jealous.
"I swear the next time I see his stupid face I'll- POTTER?" she said, noticing the messy haired boy eavesdropping in the corner.
"ARE YOU EAVESDROPPING?" she said angrily.
"er, no! I-I was looking for you and well...I guess I found you... erm...I just er...wanted to umm..."
"apologise?" said an annoyed Snape.
James threw him a glare, " er...yes. I'm sorry Evans."
"Well don't apologise to me! Apologise to Severus!" she exclaimed
reluctantly, James managed to form the words in his mouth, "Fine! I'm so very, very, verrryyyyyyy sorry Snivellus." he said
"His name is Severus!"
Now James was really losing his patience, "FINE. I'm sorry Severus." He said his name as if it were poison on his tongue.
Lily finally relaxed a little, " That's better. Let's go ask Professor Marauder to get this stuff out of your hair, and don't think that this means that we're friends Potter!" She said as she pulled Severus, yet again, away from James. But just as they were about to turn the corner, Snape throws James a mischievous glare, just to let him know that this is not over.
——
James arrived back at the entrance of potion's class, just as Sirius and Remus were about to leave.
"So, what happend? What did McGonagall say?" asked Sirius
"I didn't see her, I went to find Lily." replied James
"Oh? And what did you say once you found her." asked Remus.
"Well, I apologised to Snivellus over there." He says, pointing to Snape.
"You apologised?" Sirius said snickering "Well damn Prongs, I know I've only known you for a while, but I never thought you would be the type to apologise!"
Just as Sirius reminded him of their friendship, James remembered he still had to introduce Sirius to Remus Lupin.
"Oh right, Sirius this is Remus Lupin but you can call him Moony, and apparently he likes to keep wolf's bane in his pocket." said James.
"Hello there Moony, I'm Sirius." He says as he shakes his hand.
"Pleasure." says a smiling Remus.
——
The three of them checked their timetables and notice they have Herbology with the Ravenclaws next. As they make their way out the castle and to the green houses they talk about their homelives. Sirius mostly remaining silent since he honestly didn't have very much to talk about. His mother thought he was scum for being in Gryffindor house, heck she thought he was scum even before he left to go to Hogwarts.
After a truly fascinating lesson of Herbology involving Mandrakes, and nearly having their eardrums burst right out of their ears, the boys ran off to their next lesson, Charms with Professor Flitwick.
After plenty of lessons including Transfiguration and one of their favourites, Defence Against the Dark Arts, it was finally break time and the students rushed outside to relax and do some homework or study.
"Let's sit over there by that rock." said James pointing to a large rock on the grounds.
The boys decided not to bring out any homework, considering they had a good three days to do it. Instead, they went into the kitchens and "borrowed" a few snacks from the house elves.
"So what do you have against that Snivellus fellow anyways?" asked Moony.
To be honest, James didn't know what exactly he had against him. They hadn't even had a proper conversation, but they absolutely hated each other's guts. Was it because James was jealous (There it is again) of the way Lily spent so much more time with him? The way she considered that greasy haired boy her friend just made James so angry.
"Because Lily Evans deserves better than that bloke." He decided.
Sirius raised an eyebrow, "So you know him?"
"er, no...but just by the way he acts, I can tell that one day, he's gonna mess up and Evans won't be so fond of him any more." replied James with a smirk.
"If you say so." says Sirius, shrugging.
Little did anyone know, James Potter ended up being right.
AUTHOR'S NOTE
ERRRRRRMMMMMMMM so I've been thinking about how I'm gonna be doing this book. Am I going to have a book for each year? Only this year? Well, I've been thinking, and I think I'll be doing one book for their first year and one for their Seventh year. 'cause doing a book for every year would be tiring. So, I think two books would be good, that is if I even get anyone to read this :P (I'M ALREADY AT ALMOST 100 READS! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Anyway, what do you think of my choice? Thanks for reading ~ love you <3
