Leaving????

After the movie I had to go to my house to get ready for work. Niall was upset to see me go.

“Hey, Natalie!” he called from the couch. He handed me a little slip of paper and held my hand warmly. I bent down and kissed his lips softly.

“Call me if you need me!” I scribbled my number on a piece of paper and handed it to Niall. I looked around and made sure Niall had everything accessable so if his knee gave again, he could have it right in front of him.

“Do you need anything else, before I leave?” 

“I think I’ll be okay!” he said with an assuring smile.

“Will you come back after your work shift?”

“Of course!” I smiled and gave him another soft kiss before leaving through the door and out on the cold Ireland streets. Just as I was crossing the street, my butt vibrated, signaling that I was receiving a text. Who  could be texting me? I thought. I pulled my phone out and checked the screen, no one I knew. I tapped the read messege button and examined the message. It was Niall, it read I miss you already   

I started tapping on my phone, I’ll see you after work..I promise! 

I kept walking towards my flat and I check the time on my phone really quick, 4:55..No!!! I only have an hour! I hurried to my flat and quickly hopped in the shower and got ready for the dinner shift at Nandos. It always got really busy around the time that I go, and I always come home hungry and sweaty. I dried my hair a bit more before throwing on my little work apron and headed out the door with my purse and sweater in hand. I hurried on the street, I had a half hour but I like to get there early to set up the tables to make my job easier. I crossing the street when I noticed Nandos was packed! I was in for the night, and I hope I get a lot of tips tonight, I need money to cover my rent for the month and I needed food! My phone vibrated against my apron, where I stashed it along with my tip wallet and keys. 

I’m gonna head out for about an hour, call you if I need you! Xx Niall. I typed frantically,

Where are you going? What if your knee gives out again!? Xx Natalie 

I shoved my phone back into the pocket of my apron and hurried off the work. Once I entered, the smell of chicken being grilled filled the air with its delightful aroma. I went to the back room and punched into the system and hung up my jacket and bag. 

I need to go to the market and get something Xx Niall

I can get it for you after my shift Xx Natalie

I put my phone on silent and shoved it back into my apron and went to work. 

“Hey Laura!” I smiled as I looked at the seating chart placed on the waitress station.

“There is a table here, that just arrived,” she pointed to the table that was highlighted green, “They need some servicing, chica! They look a little feisty” she smiled at me and I grabbed a pen and scurried over to a small family of four who were chatting silently.

“What can I get for y’all tonight?” I asked with a curious smile. They all went around the table, giving me their orders and I went to Benny, the cook and posted the slip on the small string between the window.

“How are you tonight, Ben?” I asked cheerfully.

“Pretty good, busy tonight!” he looked at me as he flipped the chicken breast on the grill. I went back to Laura and checked to see if there was a table for me to cover. There were three and I went to go cover them and hand their order to Benny. I decided to check on the first table and see if they needed anything. 

“Is everything going ok? Your food will be done shortly!” I asked and they all shook their heads, no.

“No thank you!” said the middle aged woman who I assumed was the mother. I heard a bell and hurried over to Benny to pick up the table’s order. I placed the plates on my left arm and carefully went to place the warm meals in front of the hungry family, then I went back for the sides. When I was finished waiting on them, I pulled out my phone to check if Niall responded to me

Ok thanks so much! I need some Ace™ bandages Xx Niall 

I shut my phone and went to Laura again to check the service. None, yes! I chatted with her until I heard the dinner bell for the other three tables that I was waiting on. The rest of the night went smoothly with no spillings, no mess ups and lots of tips! By the end of the night, I had almost 190€ ($250). My shift ended at about 8:30, when it was completely dead. Benny decided to let me off early since I worked almost 50 tables. I put in an order for my dinner and decided to get Niall, my favorite, Perri Perri Chicken. Laura and I had a short conversation until my food was done and placed in white Styrofoam to-go container. I grabbed it and gave Benny a tip, since he always lets me get free dinner after every shift, if he feels I deserve it. I hurried out of Nandos and went to the pharmacy for Niall, I decided to get some candy with my tip, I grabbed it and left the store in the direction of Niall’s flat. It took me a while to get there, but the traffic was slow tonight. I knocked softly on Niall’s door to his flat, a few seconds later I was greeted by a smiling Niall. 

“You’re early!” he hugged me and led me into his flat. 

“What’s that?” he motioned toward my brown Nandos bag.

“Our dinner!” 

“Really?” his face lit up and he scurried to his kitchen and returned with two plates, utensils and two bottles of iced tea. He set up a two places on the coffee table and grabbed my hand and we sat on the ground, with him across from me. I pulled out the still warm meals and handed one to Niall. We put the contents on our plates and began to eat and made small talk. 

“How was your work shift?” he asked.

“Pretty good, I made 190€ tonight in tips.” I smiled proudly.

“Nice!” 

“Do you work, Niall?” I asked.

“I’m off for a while because of my knee.” He frowned a little and ate a piece of his chicken. 

“At least you don’t have to stand all day and wait on feisty people!” I joked and he laughed.

“Yeah but I get bored all day” he whined. I smiled and rolled my eyes, jokingly. We sat in sustained silence while we ate. When I finished I took Niall’s plate and put them in the sink and washed them off. 

“Do you want to do anything, love?” he asked as he entered the kitchen with the empty iced tea bottles in his hands.

“What is there to do at nine o’clock at night?” I asked and he pondered the possibilities in his mind.

“Do you want to go see a film?” he suggested and I thought about it and propped myself on the counter as Niall made his way over to me.

“Anything good out?” I questioned. He grabbed my waist and got closer to me.

“Hmm, what kind of movies do you like?”

“Romances, horror, comedy” I named a few.

“How about that new movie, Warm Bodies?” he asked and perked up.

A/N  I want to see that movie soo bad!

“Yeah! Let’s go before we are too late!” I hopped off the counter and headed for the door and grabbed my purse. Niall disappeared into a room and I followed him, it was his bedroom, he grabbed his wallet and pulled on a jacket and took my hand and we headed out the door.
