An author's note before we get into this:
Yes. This is a rewrite of Moonlight Knife, an old book of mine that was heavily inspired by A Message to Scott Cawthon: Reimagined by YouTube_CreepyPastas. I kept swearing to myself I'd rewrite (my) piece of shit of a fanfiction to another masterpiece of a fanfiction and here I am. Isn't that wonderful?I was cringe when I wrote it and I sure as hell didn't improve. Only thing that improved was my fucking personality, honestly. Enough of that though. How about we get into the fact I will jump straight into the fucking story?
The video will not be like the actual one, sorry pals. I haven't watched Dawko for two years. I'm rusty.
Another note: ALL OF THIS IS FICTIONAL. PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS IS REAL. None of these guys were actually hurt or anything. Please watch the original video, man. And read A Message to Scott Cawthon: Reimagined and Fractured Reality by YouTube_CreepyPastas. Good books!

Everyone gets a friend in their life, don't they? A friend they can trust. A friend they can confide secrets with. A friend that will always be there for them. However, these friends aren't always what they try to be. These friends, with a sweet demeanour coating it, could be malicious. They could be planning to hurt you behind your back. When one invites you and three others to go out, would you accept? Of course you would. You wouldn't know their intentions at all.
The four victims. Rhys, Ryan, Will and Baz. Only one of them lived to tell the tale, but could you guess which one? Nobody could guess which one. They all were fighting for their lives - one would almost die trying. Keep that in mind. Almost. Because you are going to watch four men fight for their lives against one friend who had finally cracked their sweet demeanour.
Everybody knows Lewis Dawkins. He's famous like his friends. He's adored, a role model to all. It all changed when a certain video appeared on his YouTube channel with the title "A Message to Scott Cawthon". The thumbnail had seemed sweet but when you clicked on the video, it became disturbing. It stood out from the rest of his content he had created.
The description had read: "It's Ryan. You know, 8-BitRyan. I need to rush this before I escape with the others. Lewis isn't right in the head at all. We were going to record a skit but he completely changed. It's a trap. His whole demeanour was a trap. Watch it for yourself. If it gets taken down, save it.
Please."
The video started.
Lewis positioned the camera onto its stand. There appeared to be four men behind him, struggling against the ropes. A knife was gripped firmly into his hands while he wore the most awful grin on his face. Blood seemed to already be on his white button-up shirt as if he had already hurt somebody. Worse yet, kill somebody. He leaned towards the camera. "This is a message.. to Scott Cawthon."
One of the men could be heard crying in the background. Lewis groaned out of annoyance and looked over. This gave us a better view of the men. One you could identify to be 8-BitRyan, mostly known as Ryan, because of his iconic brown ombre to blonde hair. The ginger-haired male would be identified as Baz, also known as Ryan. "Lewis.. what has gotten into you?" That would be the voice of DAGames, mainly known as Will. The other man had refused to say anything and was not recognisable but you can guess who this one is now.
Lewis walked on over to the crying man, who turned out to be Baz. He yanked the man's head back by the hair and held the knife to his throat. "I've turned into the best person I could possibly be, Will." He pressed the knife more against Baz's neck, making the ginger-haired man panic and cry even more. Dawkins groaned again. "Come oon, Baz. This isn't going to be a very fun video if everyone can hear you crying in the background."
Baz had refused to stop crying. He was mainly doing so because of how much fear he was in. They were all still struggling against the ropes. Lewis walked on over to the camera. "Scott Cawthon, if you find this video - and I sure fucking hope you do - I want you to know I'm going to enjoy killing you. Now, excuse me, I need to go find some tape." He walked off view.
This had left us with the men. A sigh could be heard. "What the fuck has gotten into him?" Ryan spoke up, trying to look at his friends. "We were all having a fun time together and suddenly his complete personality shifted. Is this really who we've been friends with the entire time? A psychopath?"
"Not the time to start making assumptions." Now we could tell who this was. It was Razzbowski, also known as Rhys. You could see him holding something - what seemed to be a pocketknife. "We need to focus on getting out of here, right? Maybe call for help?"
Baz choked on his sob. "Wha- what if he's tricking us?! What if-"
"Baz, don't work yourself up." Will kept struggling until a wrist came free. He squeezed his hand into a fist a few times. "If he is tricking us then we will come up with a plan to stop him, alright? But for now, let's do what Rhys said. Focus on getting out of this place for good. Get help if we can."
The ginger-haired male had nodded when Rhys finally cut himself out of the ropes. He started to cut Baz's ropes while Will got his other wrist out and started to help Ryan. It was until they all got out of their ropes Lewis came back into view and dropped the tape. He gripped onto the knife in his hand. "You think you're getting out of here? Alive? Please. Sit back down."
Ryan finally screamed "Get the fuck out of here!". Will ripped the camera off the stand and they all stumbled over each other to get out. Lewis had laughed at this. It was Will, Ryan and Rhys who got out. Will breathed heavily as three of them ran outside. They ran as far from the house as they could. Ryan placed a hand on a nearby tree and wheezed out of breath. He looked about. "Hey, where's Baz?" He finally asked. All three looked at each other before a blood-curdling scream came from the house. Will lifted the camera up to his face and ended it.
Nobody really knows what had happened after that video was uploaded.
Not until now.
We are back, baby.
