Zander

Whenever I stepped inside the school building, nobody stared at me. They just glanced for a second before turning away almost immediately. I was used to everyone being scared of me. After all, it had been that way for a little over a year. It wasn't that I scared them off to avoid any bullies or bothersome girls trying to talk to me, it was just that I 'looked intimidating'. Maybe it was my dark blue eyes that glared at them or the way I clenched my jaw every time someone tried talking to me. Not that I had anger issues, I just didn't like wasting my energy talking to people I don't want to talk to.

However, when I pushed past a group of kids toward the two double doors leading to the entrance hallway of the school, I was surprised when everybody's gaze fell on me. In the middle of the hallway stood the most popular guy in school, Parker Wilson. He was staring at me alongside everyone else. Beside him stood his best friend, Hazel Jones, who was also staring at me.

The popular group never payed attention to me. To them, I was just a kid that wandered around the hallways and was usually alone. They probably figured I was too boring to beat up or make fun of, and I wanted to keep it that way.

Even girls didn't pay attention to me. In fact, nobody did.

The only two people that cared about me and were my friends were probably the two most extroverted people in the school; Scarlett and Jason. The two were a couple, and possibly the only open one in the whole school. Nobody really enjoyed getting stared at with their partner, so they kept their relationships a secret from the people at school. It wasn't like anybody cared who was dating who at school anyway. To them, all they wanted was to hook up with people at random teenage parties.

Parker continued to stare at me, just like everyone else.

His eyes were always shining whenever I glanced at him. At first I thought his eyes were brown, but they were actually a shiny and bright hazel. His hair was dark; the only part of him that I was sure I was correct about the colour - black. He had a defined jawline and thin lips, but they looked good on him. Everyone, even straight guys, were either jealous or drooling over him. He wasn't a sports guy, but I knew he liked running. Actually, the entire school knew that. He joined the track team so his friends did, too. They quit soon after, realizing how much they hated running.

Not only that, but he was smart and kind. He was pretty much the perfect guy that everybody wanted. Everyone except me.

I was bisexual, but I never found myself drooling over a hot guy or girl.

My crushes were very simple people that had no idea I even existed. Or maybe they just chose to ignore me because I was creeping them out. I wasn't sure, they never told me.

I stared back at the two popular guys who were staring at me.

It made sense for Parker and Hazel to be glued together. If they left the other's side, they'd find them an hour later with bruises on their pretty faces from getting beaten up by jealous guys. Apparently their pretty faces weren't enough, and they weren't very strong, either. Because of that, Hazel joined taekwondo but it turned out he was still weak either way. So they just decided to eat it up and take the bullying.

Actually, to be honest, I at first thought they were a couple. They always walked around together, sent each other off to their classes, and they sometimes held hands. Hell, they even took each other to the bathroom and creepily waited outside for the other to finish. To me, they just seemed oddly attached to one another so they might as well date.

It wouldn't be shocking if they came out to the school by telling everyone they were dating. They'd probably just say, 'Okay' and walk away like it was a normal day.

However, everyone knew Hazel was straight and Parker was, too. Or at least, that was what they thought.

Actually, Parker came into the school two years ago. It was a separate building from the middle and elementary, but sometimes the little kids had to walk all the way over to our building because it was the only building with a working vending machine that didn't eat your money and give nothing in return. Okay, they weren't little kids but for being six and eight graders, they were pretty damn small. I noticed that some fourth grader were taller than the six graders which is pretty sad.

Anyway, it didn't take long for Parker to become popular. He walked into school on the first day, and everybody's jaw dropped at the sight of such a pretty boy appearing in the hallways. At first, I believed him to be like the others; obsessed with basketball, football, or shitty sports like that, but when he joined the track team, I was taken by surprise. To be honest, everyone else assumed him to be a stereotypical jock, too.

He, however, wasn't a jock. He was nice to others and helped people when he had time. I never admired him, and I never wanted to be friends with him like everyone else, but he inspired me in a way. He made me want to do better on my homework and tests, but it didn't matter anyway. My grades were always above average because my little sister was smarter than me which is kind of sad. Well, to be exact, we're only an hour apart but I'm still the older one.

Her name was Zoey and she was really good-looking, unlike me. She had wavy brown hair, long eyelashes, brown eyes, and pale skin that suited her well. Not only that, but she was smart and nice to others. She and I went to the same high school, but I told her not to talk to me at school or her reputation would get ruined. She protested at first but eventually agreed.

What was even sadder was the fact that she managed to get into a relationship before me. She was pansexual and was dating this boy named Adam Jameson. They looked good together, but I didn't exactly approve of their relationship. Being the hour older brother, I wanted to protect her but seeing the sight of her so happy with Adam was keeping me back from saying anything. That was what brothers do, right? Well, not every brother is the same, but you get what I mean.

- Hazel threw his arm around Parker's shoulder, causing him to flinch in surprise. He walked toward him with a large grin on his pretty face.

I raised my eyebrow skeptically at him, completely unaware of what happened before I arrived at school. Parker stared at me with his , usually deathly pale skin , cheeks flushing a pigmented shade of pink with a mix of red.

'News for you, Zander!' he yelled enthusiastically.

He pointed at his best friend's face.

'Pretty boy has a crush on you!'
