Castiels POV: Forks Washington, Washington; WA, 7/28/06 at 6:45 AM

"Welcome to Forks Washington," Castiel stood near the sign with bored stupefaction, how he was convinced to head up in a small town with a small population doing nothing but picking supposedly 'rare' potion ingredients only grown in the Olympic Peninsula for the Ilvermorny potions professor, Professor Donaldson... He had no idea.

All he knew was Professor Donaldson could've easily apparated and gotten them herself if she wanted to, just because he's a vampire doesn't mean he wants to go out and collect these ingredients at the ass crack of dawn so she could get a few extra hours of beauty sleep.

Resigned to his fate of a long, tedious day, Castiel trudged past the sign and started walking along the ditch by the road, inhaling the mist in the atmosphere and admiring the greenery that is Washington, he always adored this type of environment, reminding him of the home he once had when he was human as well of the home he helped build and continued to build after his transformation, getting lost in thought he didn't hear the thrum of the engines that were from two vehicles emerging from the mist behind him, speeding up by the millisecond.

When he finally did take notice of the vehicles is when they abruptly screeched to a halt, startling him out of the past and making him more aware of his surroundings, the vehicles in question were a black Mercedes he had seen the MACUSA officials use when they were transporting or traveling the mundane way while the other, Castiel believed to be a white Jeep Wrangler, they both had tinted windows masking the occupants in them and for a fraction of a second, both cars were still in place until two men emerged from each vehicle.

'Other vampires' Castiel thought as he examined the two men in question, while they were emerging from their vehicles he quickly assesses both of them for any inclination of danger, one of the men who got out of the Mercedes was tall with slicked back, blond hair with kind and compassionate...Topaz eyes? He looked at the other man, no boy, he looked at the boy, and sure enough, sporting a wave of rustic auburn hair he had the same topaz eyes, eyes just like his own.

Still, he couldn't let his guard down, living this long teaches you a thing or two about survival, and as a good friend once told him 'Constant Vigilance' keeps the world a safer place, keeps you in a safer place, Castiel knew there were more vampires in the two cars, he could smell them once the two men open the doors even if they were a couple of feet away from him, leading him to believe that these two were the 'leaders' so to speak or maybe one has an ability they could utilize in this type of situation he doesn't know.

They were both over six feet tall much to Castiels disappointment as he hated dealing with tall people, they always try to use their height to intimidate him during predicaments like these, it never works and just leaves him feeling annoyed at having to crane his neck to look up, leaving him in a vulnerable position that most beings don't know they put him in but these two seemed to try to stand in an unthreatening, almost unassuming stance with their hands in the air with their palms up as if to say 'we bring you no harm.'

"May I ask what is it you want?'' Castiel inquires, he notices a flicker of surprise going through both men's faces but he's not surprised, most people have that reaction when they hear him speak for the first time, he looks much younger than he sounds and it often gives him an advantage of being underestimated until he speaks, not that he needs it as he's perfectly capable of defending himself if need be thank you very much but in all honestly, he doesn't want to do much fighting when it still feels like all he did in the past was too much fighting.

The blonde speaks up "Hello, my name is Carlisle Cullen and this is my son, Edward." Carlisle points between him and Edward in accordance,
Castiel wonders whether or not he should give out his actual name or his alias since he believes these vampires are mundane going on their lifestyle, the cars, the clothes, the way they introduce themselves and their diet; as far as Castiel knew, he was the only vampire in the Wizarding world who has a purely vegetarian diet as there hasn't been any news of someone else joining him in his choice of diet, he notices Edward staring at him with a hint of frustration on his face, it was only a few seconds after their introduction but maybe he was being rude for taking to long?

"Richi, again, may I ask what is it you want?" Castiel prompted since his earlier question went unanswered and he still doesn't know if he should be escaping or not, he doesn't sense these two were a danger to him by the looks of it but from his earlier thought process, looks can be deceiving even if Castiel thought Carlisle looks like a literal angel in the early hours of daylight, Edward was still staring at him with frustration and now a little bit of contempt evident on his face, when he spoke his voice came out in a low whisper that made Castiel strain to hear, " I can't read his mind, it's like there's a field around it."

'Well that's not good' Castiel bemoaned in his mind, couldn't he have one reasonable morning of not dealing with life's fuckery trying to drag him down, 'this is going to end messy if I don't get out of here, now!,' he thinks but before he could even turn his heels and apparate back to the school, a tiny, spiky, black haired woman popped out the window of the Jeep to cry out  "Don't let him get away, run after him now!!!"

"Well fuck" Castiel muttered under his breath as he turned to run deeper into the forest.
