The hall was getting empty as the guest were leaving after the function , the moment the all guest left
The father said " I know my daughter more than anyone else in this room " he bragged about it and all of them agreed as his daughter always did what was asked and never let her father's pride down.
It was the truth yet what the family missed was the pained smile the daughter flashed and small tears formed in her eyes , but suddenly she felt as if someone's eyes on her, she looked around and saw everyone still busy with her father
Then she noticed her best friend she tried to crack a genuine smile at her best friend's concerned face ;
She knew no one in that room knows her better than her, her best friend knew she was tired of staying there a room full of people pretending that she is happy, yet she would do anything for her father starting from giving him everything they ask to even give her life, happiness ,and her own peace for him .
She left the hall and entered her room and plopped herself in the corner of the room filled with darkness, how ironic she was scared of darkness that surrounds her yet that was her only friend who would held her and never let go .
The room was starting to get filled with silent sobs and whimpers suddenly she felt someone's presence beside her and covered her ears with headphone and played a song

she knew what her best friend was trying to do and she never will be able to voice out how much thankful she is to have her , She felt more tears formed as the song started play she recognized the voice, the voice which always helped her to keep going

The room filled with more silent sobs as she held onto her best friend, she felt her best friend squeezing her hand telling her that she ain't alone

The embrace of her best friend made her feel safe, she knew she can be vulnerable in those arms and they will never let her go or let anyone see this side of her, she curled herself more as if she was trying to hide from the world

As the song continued she felt her best friend's tears, she knew that it was hard for both of them one to pretend that she is fine and happy and another to pretend that her best friend is doing well but she can't do anything other than to hold onto her and be her safe place, she promised herself that she will say by her side even though it hurts to see her like that
