I made it to Alphas cell without any resistance. The rouges slept somewhere I was unsure of but right now I didn't care about my mission. I didn't care about anything. Except the one man I had always leaned on for support, Alpha.

I unlocked his cell and was met with a wild eyed Alpha. But he settled when he saw it was me. "Come in." He spread his arms in a sassy display.

I rolled my eyes but smiled anyways. I closed the door and hugged him.

When we pulled apart he held my face and wiped under my eyes with his thumbs. "Dear me, what's wrong?" He was so gentle and it soothed as well as startled. Even after years of not seeing him then finding him so vulnerable I couldn't shake my memories of him as the loud-spoken protector.

I took a moment to respond. "Boys." I laughed and so did he. "Hallsy and Myles don't like each other. Apparently they think they have some kind of claim over me. But I don't know why they think that. All I want to be is a bodyguard again. I was good at that, I was content." I sighed and sat down when Alpha motioned for me to.

He sat next to me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "I finally get to have 'the talk' with you. I played this in my head so many times when you were little so now its a bit strange- you're nearly as tall as me." He chuckled. "All you need to know is what you feel." There was a burst of light and a crash of thunder. He sighed but continued, "Who makes you feel... More comfortable?"

"Neither. I get jumpy around either of them. But that's just nerves, my trust was taken from me."

"It may not be nerves. You could have feelings for them. But what you really need to know is who your mate is." He shifted to look at me. "When you find your mate there will be sparks and care and happiness. Do either of them-"

"Yes. I feel it stronger with Myles though." It felt strange admitting feelings but also a burden was lifted.

"Then it seems that I need to meet this Myles. I believe he's your mate, dear." Alpha smiled but he looked sad. I commented on it and he turned away. "Well in all honesty, I don't want to give you away. You're like my daughter. In fact-"

There was a loud crash of thunder outside. The rain began pouring louder. He opened his mouth again but another crash of thunder stopped him. He groaned, barely being heard over the storm. "Let me tell her you bitch!" The storm quieted to my shock. He looked me in the eyes, "In fact, you are my daughter."
