Violet's POV
Walking to a location that I know is safe, I lean against a wall, contacting someone from the resistance.
"Heya Vi. something up?" Amy asks
"Yeah, I found a Mobian who claims to be against Egg-face. Could someone come help escort her to HQ?"
"Yeah I think we can do that... i'll send Nightly, she should be there soon" soon... with Nightly, that could mean 2-8 minutes.
"Got it" I shut off my device, and look at the cat, seeing her looking around, blue eyes wide. "Do you uh... not know much of the war?" I ask, catching her attention. She blinks
"Not much... only that some of uh... what we are were taken by Eggman" she shrugs, oh... Hmm... something seems kinda off... but not in a bad way... but definitely not normal. I shake it off. It could just be my nerves.
In a minute, I hear a light humming tune, making me glance over. Nightly's walking over, spinning a Badnik part on her finger.
"Sorry, Violet, I had to take a detour to destroy some nicknacks." she smiles at me, before looking at Stitch "you the Mobian Violet was talking about?" her pink and green hair flows slightly in the breeze. I hear a 'mhm' from her
"Also uh... how are you able to fight in your outfit?" she asks, making Nightly laugh.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" I laugh as well. "I fight how i fight" she waves her hand dismissively, smiling. "Come on. We have to take you to HQ. Vi, did you see if she had a tracker on her?" oh... yeah right, heh. I sheepishly shake my head.
"I... didn't think to" she laughs, before quickly making a check over the cat... technically other cat but um... Nevermind.
"I'm not getting anything, let's get her to the HQ. I'm sure the others would be happy to know that there's another one on our side" I nod and we head to the base, till I hear our communicator ringing. Huh? I open it and its Knuckles.
"What's up, Knuckles?" Nightly speaks up before he says anything.
"I just received some incredible news! Sonic is alive!" I feel my tail start to wag. That is the best news in months! Another voice pops up on the communicator. Silver.
"No way! That's excellent!" The blue- they are both blue... the newbie looks at the communicator with a confused look.
"What? Oh, thank goodness! I knew it! I knew it!" Amy perks up on the radio.
"I couldn't see Sonic dying that easy to Egg-head anyways" Nightly says, making me giggle.
"But there's bad news. He's captured in the orbiting prison. My spy there says he's in a solitary confinement cell, and they've been torturing him for months." Knuckles adds, his tone being as serious as he was before he became friendly.
"Aaand there it is" Nightly groans
"That's horrible! We have to rescue him!" Amy adds, right as Knuckles responds.
"Plan's already happening, guys. I've got a squad on the way to the spaceport in the Chemical Plant to 'borrow' a shuttle. Come on, guys. Who's up for an old school style jailbreak?"
"Violet and I are on our way back to HQ, with the newbie she found" Nightly speaks through my device, glancing up around "we're nearly back, too" I nod.
"Don't leave without us!" I turn my radio off. "Come on! Let's go steal us a shuttle!"
"Don't you mean 'borrow'?" the newbie asks with what I'm assuming is a joking tone.
"Hm... keep it as a steal" Nightly laughs, before hurrying back to base, with the newbie chasing her. I hurry after them, shortly returning to base and preparing for our mission.
We enter the base, the newbie looking around the place.
"So this is your home base?" She asks, getting ever more curious. I get it. It hasn't been that long since I was recruited. The members still call me Rookie! I nod. Looking around the base, I see the red echidna that I was hoping to see. I approach him, and tap his shoulder. He turns towards me.
"Ah! Rookie."
"You don't have to call me that, commander."
"Sorry. So," He looks over at the newbie. "Is that the mobian you told Amy about?"
"Yup."
"Hello. I'm Stitch. It's nice to meet you!" Knuckles holds out a hand for a handshake "i'm Knuckles, the commander of our little resistance"
"There were mixed reactions when he became the commander" i hear Nightly comment from behind him, making him scoff. The newbie chuckles at the joke. She then takes his hand and shakes firmly.
"Anyway... are you going to be joining our little rescue mission? We need all the help we can get."
"Sure! I have been itching for some adventure recently!" Nightly laughs at the brush over of her comment. I head towards the weapon storage and grab a wispon. I hear footsteps from behind me.
"May I have a weapon?" I turn my head to the newbie.
"It's called a Wispon, but I guess it wouldn't hurt! Make a choice!" She approaches the selection and stares in awe. Heh. Well, I guess she must not fight with wispons very often. But she can fight with her bare hands? Hm... everyone has their own fighting style. My ears flicker to the sound of approaching footsteps. I glance over, seeing our Other newest, Ember. Her flame patterned hoodie is clean though I notice flecks of paint on the sleeves.
"Hey, Ember" i greet, getting a quiet nod in return
"Are you going to go battle at some point?" Knuckles asks, incredibly casually, and Nightly gives him a punch in the shoulder
"Leave her be. She got out of a different dangerous situation. She doesn't need to fight" Knuckles looks slightly bugged by her defence, but waves it off in a second, letting Nightly go over to her fellow cat, talking with her, and I see her two large fox tails swishing peacefully.
"The group's gonna be going in a moment" Knuckles then informs us, and I catch Nightly's ear flick.
"Got it!" I exclaim, smiling. Let's go rescue Sonic!
