"Honey wake up, we need to leave in an hour" my mom rushed into my room, "yes yes I'm awake" I responded throwing my blanket off of me, since my mom and dad are going to Africa for a fund raising program, they decided instead of letting their 16 year old daughter stay home by herself they're sending me to a summer camp, and yes I've tried to get out of it but it's impossible,

Finally I got out of bed and began to pack, shorts, swimsuits, sweaters, jogging pants, shirts, underwear, bras and socks. I packed my skin care and shower stuff separately to leave room for 4 different pairs of shoes in my suitcase. The camp is years 15-17, being around people my age is hell, everyone is so judging and annoying.

"Are you all packed?" My dad asked peaking his head through my door, "yeah wanna take my stuff down to the car" I politely asked slowly bringing my suitcase and duffel bag to the door. He took them and shot me a smile. Getting myself ready is probably gonna be difficult, I don't wanna look stupid but I wanna look cute and fun. Especially since I don't know anyone and need to make friends.

This outfit feels like camp I think atleast so I'm just gonna wear this, I packed my jansport backpack with 5 books, perfume and other things I use daily. "Come on let's go" my mom yelled from down stairs, I left my long brown hair down and grabbed my converse putting them on ask I made my way to the car, "how long is the drive?" I asked climbing into the backseat of my dads truck, "about 40 minutes" he responded as my mom got in and shut the passenger door "can we stop at a drive through for food, I didn't get to eat breakfast" I complained, my dad nodding at me through the mirror and pulled out of the parking lot and we started making our way to camp.

"Ow" I said after tripping out of the truck onto the dirt. "Do you think she'll be safe out here" my dad teased looking at my mom, "maybe the bears will get her" she laughed, "not funny" I bluntly said while getting up, "here's ur bags kiddo, go to the camp manager over there in the green shirt, she'll get u your room and anything else" my dad reassured me handing my suitcase and duffel bag to me, "I love you guys" I told the both of them as I pulled them into a hug. "Bye bye sweetie" my mom kissed my head then they got into the truck.

Making my way to the camp manager There was only one thing I could notice, everyone here was blonde and tall, every. single. One. Of. Them. It was like they were all twins, and the white air forces on all of them made me cringe, I'm not sure my 4'11, brunette, Caramel skinned ass is supposed to be here,

"You must be clara" the red haired tall manger asked me, "how'd you know" I asked since I want wearing a name tag. "When you sign up for the camp we get a photo of you" she began to speak "and you're the only one who had brown hair" she giggled making me smile at her. "You'll be sharing a room with krista and Macy" she told me leading me into a medium sized cabin with three beds. "You're the first one here so chose ur bed, dresser and sink" she finished telling me before we said our goodbyes.

I sat my stuff down on the bed closest to the door and began to unpack my things. "Good afternoon campers, please make your way to the pit once you've unpacked" a loud male voice spoke on the speakers around the camp, "the pit?" I said out loud, "yes the pit, it's down the path right outside our cabin towards the lake, it's where everyone can gather up and talk" a deep girly voice said as the door closed,
"Hi I'm Macy" the tall dirty blonde girl spoke to me with her hand out, I shook her hand "clara" I told her my name, "well I'm gonna go to the pit now" I awkwardly said "I'll be there in 15" she sweetly smilied, she seemed so comfortable to speak to me like she knew me.

As I made my way to the pit following some other campers, I couldn't help but feel out of place, maybe I'm just nervous I thought to myself, just being alone with no friends is quite lonely sometimes, everyone here seems to know each other pretty well. I sat down at the top of the bleachers that were sat around the fire pit, each seat was slowly getting filled even the ones beside me, I was sitting on the edge leaning against the medal bar meant to protect us from falling, teenagers scrambled everywhere when I felt someone sit beside me, our thighs were touching due to the lack of space. "Is this your first year" a deep fresh voice came to say, I turned to the person beside me, he was really tall, sitting down I was just under his shoulder, he had thick fluffy light brown almost dirty blonde hair which complimented his hazel green eyes, he wore black swim trunks and a dark green collared shirt, he was also wearing black converse and a couple yarn and rubber bracelets on his wrist, "yeah" I shyly responded taking my eyes off him, "is it that easy to tell" I asked looking back up at him, "I've never seen a brunette here sooo" he chuckled at the end, "everyone keeps saying that" I confusedly responded giggling a little at the end,
"Do you come here a lot" I asked shifting my body towards him and he did the same.

"Yeah, my dad kind of forces me so I don't really have a choice" he said awkwardly smiling at the end, "what about you why are you here" he asked his eyes piercing into mine making me get goosebumps. "M-my parents are doing a charity thing in Africa for the summer and didn't want me home alone" I sent a small smile at the end breaking eye contact looking at the floor, "that's co-" he began to speak but was interrupted by a loud man holding a mega phone, "welcome to camp allenwood!" He loudly praised from the middle of the unlit fire pit, everyone began to clap and woo excitedly except me the boy next to me , "here we go" he chuckled adjusting his hair, "is this like an introduction to the camp" I asked turning back towards him, "you'll see" he responded with a smirk, he got up, "woah" I said out loud
Gosh he's humorously tall "huh" he looked back at me, "oh nothing" I told him , he jogged off of the bleachers into the pit and stood beside the camp owner,
Is he like a staff member? "before we begin I'd like to introduce you to the staff" he loudly said once again,

And I guess right,
"This is Rebecca she prefers to be called bec, she runs the activities along side Chrissy who does late night sleep checks" the leader spoke referring to the red haired girl now known as bec from earlier and an older lady maybe 30 named Chrissy,

"Beside me is my son Dean" he continued to speak now referring the the tall young boy beside him, who was once beside me.

Dean

That's his name. It weirdly fit the way he looks and his personality though I haven't gotten to actually know him yet. I felt intrigued to know more about him but didn't know why he's interesting not to say the least,
So I guess His dad is the camp owner, I guess it makes sense why he's forced to come here every year.

"He will be participating just like the rest of you but can also help if you have any questions" he spoke the continued to introduce the rest of the staff.

After the introduction/ tour of the camp. We were all given maps and keys to our rooms.
Walking back to the cabin I felt a bit of excitement, maybe camp wouldn't be that bad. I skipped my way up the dirt path to my cabin when I heard loud steps behind me, I looked behind me to see the boy known as dean approaching me. "Hey" he nervously said walking beside me, "hi" I said back still walking towards my cabin, "so um I didn't get your name" he innocently smirked following me to the front steps, "Clara" I responded unlocking the door, "clara, that's a pretty name" he complimented looking down at his shoes then back up at me, he leaned against the cabin wall staring at me, "thanks, deans a pretty name too" I responded getting embarrassed the second I said pretty, "pretty" he asked chuckling, "shut up" I teased giggling back at him, our eyes locked and we held a very admirable contact when all of a sudden a ragging irritating loud voice yells "DEAN"  from the camp entrance.
