The feeling of rain pelting onto my back and the thrill of flying never ceases to make me over joyed. This was a better time than most to let my wings stretch, even if it's just for an hour or two. Flapping my wings to stay on path, lightning strikes randomly to my side warning me this was a more dangerous storm than usual. The shadow of my form flew over the humans 'nest'. To the normal eye I would look like a normal bird or just an extremely large bird at that, but to humans who believed in mythical beings would call me a phoenix. Though their image of a phoenix is very similar to me, I like to consider myself a dragon like my wingless cousins. After all I have more than talons and a beak, I prided myself for my soft fur that covers my back, chest, neck and covers the base of my majestic horns. I have a long prehensile tail with the end covered in retractable spikes (like stormfly's tail spikes in HTTYD) and closer to the beginning of the tail I have large tail feathers that help with balance and direction of my flight, right now laying flat to my other wise scale covered tail. Tucked underneath my horns is where my more sensitive feathers are located or 'ears', the feathers only act as an outer protection but will shuffle when I am really curious about something, embarrassed or irritated. But unlike most of my cousins I have the ability to shapeshift, occasionally as a wolf or raven. (I can shift into other creatures as well, I just need to have a strong connection to the species to develop my own form.) Shapeshifting takes time and usually up to a month or two, possibly a year if I don't absorb the required amount of energy to change shape again. On those occasions I have learned that the humans that did see me, made a movie called 'Maleficent' and I got to say they did a good job at least. How I learned this was after I met my best friend and companion, Kate Evergreen. Sadly I can't take her flying since her ears are sensitive to air pressure, plus I am at least five to six states from where she lives on the coast.
I soared over the desert terrain as I watched the landscape pass underneath me. Sometimes the lightning would get attracted to me and strike the thin hidden spines along my back absorbing the energy for later use. I noticed quickly that the sun was rising, only about thirty minutes till dawn. I gave a strong flap of my wings as I scoured the canyons for a suitable cave. I glided lower to the ground knowing full well I was a safe distance from the human nests. Once I found one with a hidden entrance, I opened my tail feathers as I gave my wings a few strong flaps to slow my landing. I folded my wings as my talons broke the stone towards the cave, I leaned forward and flexed my tail to balance myself. The entrance is too small to just walk in so I lowered my back to be parallel to the ground to get in more easily. Once inside I went to a smooth corner and laid on my chest, my tail wrapped loosely in front of me, and tucked my beak into my right wing. Slowly I eased myself into a deep sleep to pass the day quicker.

Bang!
My head snapped up with my tail rattling the spikes ready to shoot out at my opponent. My deep blue eyes light up the area around me in a soft glow. I made a sound similar to a raven's croak, except it was deeper and louder as it echoed throughout the cave. I push myself off the ground and scout the area for the threat stopping every now and then to pinpoint the sound.
Bang!
Bang!
The sound was getting louder, now I realized it was metal or something made of metal. I turned around to leave the cave to avoid whatever was making the noise and noticed it was evening, the worst time to leave but I had no choice. My tail whipped the side of the cave entrance leaving deep scratches as I launched into the air straight up to the clouds. What I didn't notice was that being was watching me as I disappeared into the clouds.
Soundwave pov
I was sent out to investigate the strange anomaly that entered the cave near the energon mines. I tossed something to the far side of the cave to see if there really was something there and woke it up. Blue optics open, lighting the area as it's tail rattled like a snake. I watched and recorded it as it hissed and croaked trying to find me. The beast is large with black fur and feathers that shone with a soft blue shine. I played a replica of Lord Megatron's footsteps as I managed to move to the back unnoticed. The beast's eyes widened and let out a soft shrill turning around and leaving the cave. I took a picture of the gorges in the wall and ground from its tail and talons along with it soaring into the clouds. Lord Megatron will be pleased with the discovery of this creature.
