"Don't get attached to me. All my sins will paint you black, the colour of the devil. You deserve someone better." The deep voice grumbled.
Jungkook stepped forward, eyes solemn and fixed on the man before him, the man whose second name was devil.
"No one but you deserve me." Jungkook's voice was low as he said those words. He let out a scoff, shaking his head. "And I only deserve someone who will hold me as tight as he can no matter what colour my soul is painted, someone who'll cherish even the darker side of me."
Those words turned out to have no visible effect on Taehyung as stood there unfazed, silent and expressionless. He seemed like a sculpture shining under the moonlight seeping in through the windows, not even a single crease of worry etched on his face.
"And that person is right before me, asking me to leave for something better." Jungkook continued. "A better that will be nothing but worse for me, a better that will cherish my goods but not the bads."
"I'm no good." Taehyung grunted, any kind of patience far from visible. "I'll ruin you."
Ruin.
Jungkook didn't know what exactly it meant, didn't know in what terms Taehyung meant but he continued to stay firm on his words nevertheless.
Because...
Because all this didn't matter at all.
If staying away from Taehyung meant remaining safe then he would rather have his life at risk.
If waking up every morning with no worries at all meant staying apart from Taehyung, then Jungkook would rather wake up with his bed on fire but him in the arms of his lover.
He was ready to face anything for the boy that was standing before him, anything for the guy he exchanged his heart with two years ago.
So with the same look of determination captured within his black orbs he spoke the next words.
"I'm ready if it's for you, I'm ready if by painting my soul black I'll get the brightest of eyes I ever saw. I'm ready if by turning evil I'll get the heart of an angel, an angel just for me. I'm ready if it's you Taehyung
"I'm ready if it's love."
Jungkook could see the older stiff. He could see those beautiful pairs of eyes turning soft, and could see the tough facade of Taehyung crack.
He watched as Taehyung parted his dry lips, a few cuts from last night still ruining the beauty. But yet they were so kissable, so tempting.
"I don't want to destroy you... "
"Leaving you would crumble whatever is left in me."
"You have a bright future ahead."
"A bright future that is nothing but a dark tunnel without you to guide."
Taehyung was both angry and surprised how Jungkook had answers to every reason he could think of to push him away. He was frustrated at how every word the younger said weakened his will to part ways, his will to leave a part of him behind.
"I'm heading to nowhere, Jungkook. My life is a journey without any road to follow, a barren land with nothing but silence all around."
"Then let me step onto that barren land, let me stay with you as we built our own road to walk on, Taehyung." He looked the other way, voice turning into whispers as he said the next words.
"Let me be the one to say 'I Love you' and break that silence you've been living in for so long."
He wished he had the power to say it out loud, hoped to the Gods he never really believed in to somehow make his whispers reach the ears of the man standing right before him. But he knew the prayers were impossible to be fulfilled.
