Just A Dream

Silver gasped as his eyes opened suddenly.

He was surrounded by an endless white void, fog covering up most of the distance. The albino looked around at every direction and yet there was nothing in sight.

"W-where... where am I?" He spoke aloud to himself but was startled when his voice echoed as if he had shouted into a long tunnel. He racked his brain for what he was doing before he got to... wherever he was.

Hanging out with Blaze. Getting tired. Laying down.

"Am I dreaming?" He continued to look around him then at his own hands, they looked hazy as if he was an illusion. Silver nodded to himself as he sighed in relief, he's just dreaming.

The albino started to walk, his footsteps reverberating in the void. He didn't feel in danger however he still felt unsettled, he did attempt to think off something but despite him being lucid in his dream, nothing happened.

A sudden noise from behind made him jump as he spun around. Silver's eyes widened when he saw Mephiles standing there, watching him curiously.

"Mephiles...? What are you doing here?" He asked, his voice hushed in a whisper. The ebony hedgehogs ears twitched and he remained silent.

"I'm dreaming... so, you must not be real right?" Silver approached the other with hesitance, Mephiles gave him a confused look but didn't say anything to deny or confirm the others questions.

This is a dream. Silver assured himself as he bit his lip nervously.

"Uhm... there was a secret I swore to never tell," Silver started, his face flushing as he continued to look into the others green eyes. "But since this is a dream I can tell you."

Mephiles only listened, tilting his head with interest. His glazed over eyes only urging Silver to continue.

"I love you!" He blurted out, muzzle growing a deep red as he looked away in embarrassment. He shuffled in his own boots "I've loved you since we first met" Silver kept his eyes locked onto the floor, even in a dream confessing his feelings to Mephiles was scary to him.

"Really?" Mephiles wondered with a deep and inquisitive voice. "I've also loved you since we first met." Silver's head shot up at that as he gawked at the other with a wide mouth.

He shook his head, getting rid of the rush of emotions he felt at the others words. "This is a dream! He's just saying what I wish he'd say..." Silver thought to himself. His heart twinged in rejection but he smiled anyways.

Might as well use this time to fulfill his aching heart, right?

"T-thank you... is it ok if we hug?" He stammered, face still pink. Mephiles nodded and opened his arms, inviting the other to embrace him.

Silver walked forward and awkwardly wrapped his arms around Mephiles body, relishing in the feeling of the ebony hedgehog hugging him back just as tightly.

They stood there for a while, Silver breathing in Mephiles' scent, it was calming and sweet. Making him unconsciously press himself closer to the other.

"He's so warm" Tears brimmed Silver's eyes as his wishes were coming true, his fantasies of a crush going right.

"I want us to stay this way forever... I want to be with you" Silver mumbled into the others chest, feeling himself get emotional over a lucid dream. Mephiles rubbed his back making the other less nervous.

"Oh! That's it! Let's get married, Mephiles!" He grinned, pushing the other back and holding him by his shoulders. It was Mephiles' turn to go a little red as his eyes widen in surprise, he relaxed and let out a small laugh that Silver always adored.

"Fine by me."

Silver couldn't stop smiling as he spun them around, holding the others hands. "Okay then! Let's live somewhere nice," He pondered in his head for a moment before continuing "A small house with a pretty garden near the ocean!" He finalized and Mephiles only shook his head in amusement at the other.

"We can cuddle all day" Silver solemnly smiled at his fantasies. He thought about stuff like that all the time, being with the darker one and cuddling. Small kisses and being equal with each other. It's all he ever wanted.

"Hm, that does sound nice." Mephiles murmured, placing their foreheads together while gripping onto the albinos hand as if he would vanish any second.

"We can have a wedding... at a beautiful church with stained glass windows!" Silver's voice echoed as he cried a little, his heart hurt but didn't at the same time.

Mephiles sighed and pulled back, he lifted the others chin and leaned in. Silver was stunned at first as he felt his heart pound in his chest, Mephiles closed his eyes then softly kissed the albino.

Silver burst into happy tears as he kissed back and when they pulled apart Silver smiled warmly. It was the most gentle thing that has ever happened in his whole life, even if he was dreaming he was satisfied.

"You're always so kind to me," He started hugging the other again "Thank you from the bottom of my heart... for fulfilling my wishes." Mephiles hugged back, confusion on his face as he stared down at the other in his arms.

Silver's vision started to grow dark as the world around him was fading away. "Seems like... it's time for us to say goodbye." Silver frowned as Mephiles started to fade in and out of his view.

He didn't want this to ever end but all dreams have to stop eventually.

"What do you mean? This is just the beginning, Silver."

Amber eyes snapped open as he let out heavy breaths, the morning sun spilling inside his bedroom. Tears were fresh against his skin as he wiped them away.

"What...?" He turned to his side and jumped at the sight of Mephiles staring back at him like he was in his dream.

"M-Mephiles! Hi... uhm... can you tell me if I'm dreaming?" Silver stuttered, body shaking at the presence of the other.

"You're awake, Silver." He answered, sitting up and taking the others hand. Silver tensed at the touch, sighing.

"R-right... I can't seem to distinguish between dreams and reality right now." The albino looked at his window then back at the dark hedgehog "Give me a second to sort myself out."

Mephiles nodded "Sure, once you're done we should get started right away though."

Silver looked at him weirdly and tilted his head with a 'huh?'

"We have to get married, isn't that right? A beautiful wedding at a church with glass stained windows then live in a small house with a pretty garden near the ocean while cuddling all day." Mephiles smirked at the others face going a bright red.

"Y-you're joking!? This is a dream, right? Right?" Silver panicked as he never felt more embarrassed.

Mephiles laughed again then without expecting it, leaned in and gave Silver that same warm and soft kiss, just like he did in the dream.
