"You saw him where?" Darcy questioned angrily, eyebrow raising as Chase pressed his lips in a line, smoke curling around him as he drew the blunt
from his lips. "I told you, Darcy, I don't know," he exasperated. Jesus Christ in Heaven. His vision blurred in and out of consciousness, his breath foreign to his ears. What did she say? "-I'm just telling you, I deserve to know." Even her voice made it hard for him to stay conscious; she was such a bore sometimes. "I told you, D. I don't know. Somebody please shut her up, for everything that's fucking holy." He swayed as he stood, thoughts muddled in his brain and his head throbbing as he wandered away from the crowd. It were times like these that made it the most difficult for him to keep track of time, like it always seemed to slip between his fingers. He wasn't ever even aware of what he did when he was like this, and it seemed now that this became a habit for him. Like he was dependent on it. Anything was better than dealing with the betrayal that somehow always surfaced when he looked at their faces. he wandered back into his car, driving off to where he knew Cameron was. His mind was racing with thoughts and other things while running many red lights. Luckily he wasn't close to any main stream roads so he wasn't worried about the cops finding him. His heart was accelerating, he was going to see his long time friend.
He was 2 minutes away when Darcy called. Really? he can't even leave without her helicoptering over me he let the phone ring. It felt like a never ending taunt. It was overbearing. he felt like he was being watched everywhere I went. he couldn't leave a certain vicinity without her calling me every 10 seconds. When it stopped ringing I saw I had at least 50 messages from Darcy. It was her telling me him he was 'fucking rude' for not telling her where Cameron was. It wasn't her business. Where Cameron was, he would be too. It was simple really. When Chase pulled up to the field he saw him. He was practicing. He was supposed to be on a date with Darcy ironically. He told her he had some family matters and couldn't attend. Darcy was worried, as a girlfriend is, and offered to come with him. He said it was fine and he didn't want her to miss one of the biggest bonfires of the year. Chase was only invited because one of the girls, Katelyn, had fancied him. I mean why not take advantage of that, she was hot after all. Do you really think that?
Chase had sobered up immediately. Cameron hates the sweet yet sour smell of the drug sweeping his nostrils. It was weird, he was a goody two shoes and didn't care if people liked the same gender. His brother was a homosexual. Chase had been uncomfortable when asked if Cameron and him were dating. Some parents put their children in Youth Camp. It was when Chase met Cameron. They were both around the age of 4. Cameron always made Chase smile.
He walked toward the bleachers when Cameron finished football practice. He was a sweaty mess. Chase stared at him for a while. Chase seemed to be in a drunken dazed. Cameron saw Chase. He came over to the high and drunk boy and the boy didn't realize, '- and now I think that Laurence is cheating on Marleen.' Cameron said with a, 'its so wrong' look. Chase had been taken out of his daze and had replied 'I mean, Marley is kind of a whore-'. A cut-off high pitched voice had come into the football field. 'CAMERON JACOB PHILIPS' Darcy exclaimed. Cameron looked confused, yet betrayed. The boy looked at Chase in a pissed like manner. He's never looked at the boy like that. Chase felt so broken yet so small under his glare. 'Hey Deedee, what are you doing here? I thought you were at the bonfire?' Cameron questioned. Darcy looked at Chase and back at Cameron. 'I was, but Chase had left his weed, rollers and booze at the party so I tracked his location to return them. I don't think he would like to get caught with it.' She snickered. Cameron apologized for ditching Darcy and was gonna drive her home. While she was getting in her overpriced car. Cameron gave the poor boy a look that hurt him deeply. He didn't understand what he did. Darcy literally just admitted to following Chase here, but as always, Chase took the blame for it.
