As he walked over to me "no" I said being honest about my feelings for the first time in a long time "Hey" Connor said as he walked over pulling me in a hug "Herrmann" Connor asked as I nodded "Yeah" I said trying to wipe my tears away from my eyes "the kids came by the ER today" i said wiping my tears from my eyes "yeah what did they say" Connor asked "they told me that he's heartbroken without me" I said as he rubbed his thumb against my cheek.
"Lee Henry said he was sorry and wants me to get back with his dad" I said which made Connor smile "Your heartbroken too Mel and Lee Henry was the only thing stopping you" Connor said Connor said as I stood there with my head against his chest.
Connor had become like a big brother to me because I had no siblings of my own that I had contact with often my had a brother Justin on my father's side but I hadn't met him.
"Are you going to get back with Herrmann" Connor asked which made me look up from Connor chest and at him "I don't know?" I said which confused Connor "what's stopping you?" Connor asked "I don't know I just can't risk heartbreak again" I said crying again "there's always that risk but Mel you love the guy be with him" Connor said I moved away from him.
"Mel" Connor said I began to walk around in circles "Mel" Connor said as he placed his hands on my shoulders trying to stop me "Ok, can you come with me" I said looking at him "ok come on" Connor said as he grabbed my bag and we ran out of the locker room and to his car before heading to the firehouse as we pulled up Connor stopped the car "you ok" Connor said as he placed his hand on mine "Yeah" I said as he parked the car and we both got out "I'll be ok" I said as I began to walk up to the firehouse leaving Connor leant against his car before walking up to the firehouse.
"Hey Guys" I said which made the members of squad look up at me from there table "Doctor in the house" I heard Severide shout before turning to look at me "Hey Mel" Severide said as he walked over and hugged me "Hey Kelly" I said as I hugged him back.
"Is Herrmann here" I asked as Kelly smiled "HERRMANN" Kelly shouted "good to see you Mel" Kelly said tapping my arm as he walked past me. I stood there for a few moments before I saw the doors open and Christopher walked through the doors after a few steps Christopher noticed me stood there "Hey" Herrmann said with a sad look on his face.
"Hey" I said standing there with a smile on his face as he walked over to me "what you doing" Christopher said confused about why I was here but before he could continue I grabbed his shirt and pulled him close to me before kissing him as hard and passionate as I could as we kissed I could hear all the guys cheering around us which made me smile "What was that for" Herrmann asked sounding confused "ayy" everyone shouted around us "the kids came by the ER and spoke to me" I said as Christopher smiled "really?" Christopher said sounding happy "Even Lee Henry" I said which made him chuckle "what did they say" Christopher said I could tell he was hoping Lee Henry hadn't said anything else to upset me " he said he was sorry and wanted me to come back to you" I said which made Herrmann smile.
"You want to be together again" Herrmann said as tears started forming in Herrmanns eyes "if you want me" I said starting to cry too "Yeah I do" I said smiling as he pulled me in for a hug and I buried my head into his chest and smiled before Cap came running out of the doors
"Mel is back" Cap said shouting as he ran over to me shoving Herrmann out of the way and lifted me up and hugged me "we've missed you" Cap said as he placed me down "thanks" I said as I laughed as I shoved him in a jokey way.
"Mel" Boden said as he walked through the door with a huge grin on his face "aren't you a sight for sore eyes get over here" Boden said standing there with his arms wide open so walked over and he pulled me in for a hug before whispering in my ear "Thankyou for coming back" Boden said with a huge smile on his face and I nodded "of course" I said before we ended our hug.
Later on that evening I headed over to Connors place grabbing my stuff I had been staying at his place when me and a Herrmann broke up as we finished packing up the rest of my stuff "Look after her" Connor said placing the last box in Herrmanns boot "I will do" Herrmann said as he and Connor hugged for a moment "see you at work" I said hugging Connor "I'll miss you" Connor said as I looked up from the hug "me too" I said as Connor placed a kiss on my head before heading inside "Let's go home" Herrmann said as he placed a kiss on my cheek before we got in his car and headed to the house as we arrived I stood there smiling at the house before all the kids ran out apart from Lee Henry who stood on the porch smiling at me "right make yourself useful grab a box and don't drop it" Herrmann said as the kids began to grab a box each and walking inside. Both we all walked inside closing the door around us "take the boxes to our room" Herrmann said as we stood there watching the kids "I love you" Herrmann said before I looked up at him "I love you too" I said before we kissed.
