Chapter 14 - Love Actually

So the day of my wedding had arrived the 23rd of December I had been woken up that morning by my now mother Trudy Platt who had officially adopted me a few months ago after forming a relationship with my dad Hank Voight I had met Trudy and she had been everything a mother should have been to me.

After so much planning and obstacles thrown in our way I was finally marrying the man I consider the love of my life Christopher Herrmann a few days before Christmas. Christmas hadn't always been my favourite Holiday until I got the family I had always wanted. As I sat there in the chair having my makeup done I saw my mom texting in the corner "has Mouch texted you yet" I asked which made her look up from her phone "I got two words him so hungover" Mom said which made me laugh "Well they better sober up I'm not having anyone ruin my wedding photos after it's taken us so long to get here" I said smiling because I was excited.

"Your dads making them all chug some Coffee and you know what he's like, he's not gonna let anyone ruin his only daughters wedding" Mom said which made me sad because Justin my brother didn't get the chance to see me get married. "I wish Justin was here to see me get married" I said which made my mom look sad "I know and so does your dad" Mom said which made me smile before all the girls came running in I had many brides maides Maggie, April & Nat from Chicago Med and Stella, Gabbie and Sylvie from firehouse 51 along with my flower girl Annabelle "hey guys" I said smiling as I turned around "Morning future Mrs Herrmann" Stella said filler with joy as they all carried there dresses.

"How are the boys" I said as I looked at Nat "last time I saw Connor he was throwing up in the toilet but he's got a banana bag so he should be fine" Nat said smiling "well he better be he's my man of honour" I said laughing I know it's not common to have a man of honour but Connor was my best friend and brother and I wanted him to behind me to catch me if I fall. "You look Pretty" Annabelle said before she hugged me "so do you" I said smiling at her "I have something for you it's from dad" Annabelle said as she pulled a box out of her pocket before passing it to me.

As she passed it to me I opened it, it was a locket "it was beautiful" I said with a huge grin on my face before I opened it up, it had two photos one of me, Christopher and the kids and the other of me and my parents "I helped dad pick it out" Annabelle said sounding happy "Well Thankyou, Mom do you wanna help me put it on" I said before she walked over and I moved my hair before she put on the necklace "right ladies time for the dress.

As everyone cheered, Before I walked over and unzipped my wedding dress and got into it I looked in the mirror still shocked that this was happening "you look beautiful" my mom said which made me turn around and look it at her "no crying it will ruin your makeup and getting me crying" Mom said as he rubbed my cheek with her finger "right we'd better get going" Mom said as all the girls were travelling together and I would be travelling with my dad to the church. So as everyone left I waited until I heard a knock at the door it was Connor "Hey" Connor said as he stepped in "you'll be needing this" I said picking up the bouquet and passing it to him "just so you know I'm honoured to be your man of honour" Connor said smiling "Thankyou I couldn't think of anyone else to be right behind me" I said as hugged him but our hug was interrupted by my dad "Hey" my dad said so we ended our hug "don't you look dapper dad" I said smiling at him as he looked at me "I must outshine the bride" Dad said as we all laughed.

"We'd better get going honey" Dad said as I followed my dad out of the room and held his hand as we headed to the car "you look beautiful" dad said which made me want to cry "thanks pop" I said as we arrived at the car "what the hell" I said putting my hands on my mouth it was a patrol car all made up to be a wedding car "Well you must arrive in style" Dad said "thanks pop" I said placing a kiss on his cheek before we both got in.

Then dad started the car "you ready" Dad said with a huge grin on his face "absolutely" I said taking a deep breathe "ok then" Dad said before he began to drive to the church. I was so nervous but excited because I was getting married surrounded by me family a family I didn't think I would ever have. As the car pulled up to the church we stepped out and stood out to see Connor and the girls waiting.

"it's time" my dad said putting his arm out before I put mine in his before the church door opened and we stepped inside as the music began to play I had decided that I wanted to get married to the PM's Love Theme from Love actually my favourite Christmas Film as the music played I saw Mouch tap Herrmann and he turned and saw me he looked as if he was going to cry. As we walked down the isle I saw the whole place decorated with decorations and all of our family sat down smiling at me. It felt like forever as I walked down which made me more nervous until we reached Herrmann and the bridesmaids and Connor said down as my dad passed my hand to Herrmann "Thankyou" Herrmann said tears falling down his face before we stood infront of each other hand in hand.

"This Couple has been through obstacle and obstacle to get to this day, but today is the celebration of there love and commitment to one and other" The officiate said as we stood there smiling at each other as we took each other's rings from the table infront of us placing them on each other's hand "marriage is more than an piece of paper but a bestfriend to call home" the officiate said "now the I do's" the officiate said with a smile on his face "I do" I said smiling "I do always and forever" Herrmann said trying to not cry "then I now pronounce you Husband and wife" the officiate said as everyone cheered around us before we stepped to each other and kissed.
