Author's note: This is rushed once agin but I hope you like it. It's going to be quite a bit longer than the past chapters but, oh well. I'll post the final prior twilight tomorrow. Enjoy.
I was right. That summer was one hell of an interesting one but yet it was one of the best. Everything was great. I had it all balanced out, I would stay in the mortal world for the year until the summer, where it was time to go to Camp. For three whole summers everything was great. Then the fates started to weave their web again. That was the summer it all changed.
On the third summer of staying at Camp, Luke was given a quest from his dad. We were happy for him, after all that was what he had wanted ever since he was little. To prove to his father his worth. Annabeth and I were worried as Hades when he was gone. If only we knew.
Luke came back, he had a terrible scar on his eye but he lived, however, a few weeks after he returned, he started acting different. I tried talking to Annabeth about it but she just thought I was being overprotective since he had just come back from a quest, but I just couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. So, I went to Chiron.
He didn't seem surprised. In fact, he didn't have any emotion shown on his face. Instead, he led me to the attic to see the oracle. The attic was filthy, like nobody had been up here for years as the oracle sat on an old chair. Chiron grabbed a piece of paper from around her neck. He seemed to be debating whether to give it to me or not but in the end passed it to me.
A half-blood of the eldest gods
Shall reach sixteen against all odds
And see the world in endless sleep
The hero's cursed blade shall reap
A single choice shall end his days
Olympus to preserve or raze.
This must have been what dad was talking about three years ago. My thoughts were cut short. "It means that one day a child from one of the big three will reach sixteen and will be faced with a choice, whether to save Olympus or to destroy it."
"How does this have anything to do with Luke?" Chiron looked me straight in the eye.
"I think you already know the answer." I didn't know what he meant but I got this feeling in my stomach which gave me the impression the answer wasn't going to be good.
It was two years later that I finally understood. That summer a boy named Percy Jackson came to Camp but he was a son of Poseidon. One of the big three. I tried to keep my distance but I had made a promise to Chiron.
FLASHBACK
"Promise me that when the time comes, you'll protect and guide them, because one day we'll be at war and there will be nothing we can do to stop it," Chiron asked. I suddenly felt like he had just put a huge weight on my shoulders. "I promise." What did I get myself into?
BACK TO THE PRESENT
I remember that day clearly, the day I found out what Luke had done. That he had stolen Zeus's lightning bolt. Once again, I had failed. I had sat on the beach, staring. Just staring and thinking, about the war that was a rising unknowingly to the campers. Lives would be lost, blood would be spilt and its whole fate rested on one twelve, year old, boy.
As Percy got older, the quests only got harder, When, he was thirteen I had to accompany him, Annabeth and Tyson to the sea of monsters. It turns out there is a reason why they call it 'the sea of monsters.'
