according to some people, ever since sunny was a trainee, she is often seen going to a church in gangnam every morning. she dressed modestly and is very quiet. until today, she still attends church. sometimes, alone and sometimes, with her manager.
during a vlive she did on saturday evening, sunny mentioned that once, her mother asked her if she went to church that morning. she said she did go to church.
a fan ever asked her if she is a religious person and sunny said she isn't a religious person. but she believes that god exists and believes in the second coming of jesus because that is what she learned ever since she was a little child. the same goes for her other family members.

yuna from itzy once told fans during one of her solo vlive where the fans were asking about her friendship with sunny. yuna said that sunny is one of the kindest people she has ever met.
she continued, "sunny does have a lot of friends but she only trusts some. she has a lot of both female and male k-pop idols' phone numbers and always keeps updated with them. i myself was surprised that she does keep updated about them."
yuna also revealed that sunny is a really popular trainee during their training days. even trainees under jyp also know that sunny was popular. she was the ace of big hit entertainment. this was also confirmed by the members of txt and enhypen.
yuna then continued, "sunny is a sincere person. she puts trust in everyone around her but you only get one chance. that's her rule. sunny takes it seriously regarding relationships, friendships and respect. don't try to play with her or do a game with her. she's not gonna like it."
she also said, "you don't know how happy and overwhelm when the person she trust and love shows their love and care back to her. she would be so grateful and sometimes, she would even cry. she once called me saying that her fans did the billboard thing in new york for her birthday and she cried out of gratefulness. she's really precious and i can see how sincere she is doing her job. making songs and working hard for her fans."
