Parker POV:
"Okay, goodnight. Sweet dreams, Parker." Dad tucked me into bed and shut off the light. I cuddled with Strawberry Bear and tried to fall asleep, but I couldn't. I start Kindergarten tomorrow and I'm super nervous.
"Dad!" I yelled. "Daddy!"
"Yes, sweetheart?" He opened the door.
"I can't sleep. Can I have another story please?" I pleaded.
"Sure. What story do you want to hear?" He sat next to my bed.
"One with ghosts!"
"Ghosts, huh?" Dad got up and searched the bookshelf for a book. "I don't see any. But don't worry, we can make one up."
"Yay!" I lay back down in my bed.
The next morning
Travis POV:
Today was Parker's first day of Kindergarten, so I had to make it special. I made her waffles and eggs breakfast and packed her lunch with a little note. I went to wake her up but when I opened the door she was already dressed and trying to tie her shoes. I helped her with the laces and walked with her to the kitchen.
"You ready for your first day?" I handed her breakfast.
"Yeah!" She said with a mouthful of waffles. Once she finished, I brushed her short red hair into little pigtails. I stood outside waiting for the bus with Parker.
"Bye, Daddy!" She dashed up the steps onto the bus. I waved to her in the window and went back inside to get ready for work.

Parker POV:
I sat at the end of the lunch table by myself. Nobody seemed to want to talk to me, but I didn't care. My teacher was nice, and I had art after lunch. But as I looked around the cafeteria, everyone was talking and laughing and having a good time. I sighed. I opened my brown paper lunch bag and took everything out. Dad packed me a bologna sandwich (my favorite), an apple, a water bottle, and a note. It read: Have a good day! Xoxo, Dad. I took my sandwich out of the little bag it was in.
"Hey. Whatcha got?" Someone slid down the bench and bumped into my side. I turned to see a girl with brown hair pulled into a tight ponytail with two strands sticking out in the front. She wore a pink top with a cat with sunglasses on it and a big pink skirt.
"Ew what kinda sandwich is that?" She pinched her nose and pointed at my lunch.
"Uh...it's bologna." I shrink in my seat.
"Well, it's gross. And you're gross. It smells like dog breath." She crossed her arms over her chest and stuck her nose in the air. "Well, my mommy made me smiley fries with Oreos and a juice box for lunch." She slammed a rainbow lunch box with unicorns on the table.
"Well enjoy your lunch, dog breath." She stood up and moved to another table. I teared up and shoved everything back into the bag and threw it all out. I sat back down and waited for the rest of the day to drag on.

I got off the bus and rushed up to Dad to give him a hug.
"How was school?" He asked.
"It was great!" I lied.
"Good! Did you eat all your lunch?"
"Yep! But can I buy lunch tomorrow?"
"Sure, why not?" We went inside and I put my backpack on the couch and run into the kitchen for a snack.
"Goldfish or cupcakes?" Dad asks.
