"No. I'm not doing it" Damon denied once again. I've been trying to convince him to turn me since last night and each time he would tell me no.

"If you don't do it, I'll find someone else who will do it for me" I told him. "I would love for you to be the one to turn me but if you won't do this for me, I'll find someone else to do it."

"No, Danica. You aren't going to do this to yourself. You're innocent, being a vampire will ruin you" Damon grew aggravated. "Ypu already lost your parents, do you really want to live your life watching the people around you grow old and die?"

"First, I'm far from innocent and two, most of the people I care about are already vampires so it wouldn't hurt me any" I argued.

"I said no" Damon spoke before storming out of the room. I sighed, sitting down on the end of the bed. He said it himself last night. I can't help him any because I'm human. I had already felt that fact weighing down on me and now that he had said it out loud, it made it that much more real. One way or another I was going to become stronger to protect him like he's always tried protecting me. I stood up and walked out of the bedroom, making my way downstairs in search for Damon. We we're suppose to be going to some type of event for the town. After calling for him and searching the house for ten minutes I had concluded that he left without me. I growled under my breath slightly as I grabbed my keys, already thinking of the things I was going to be saying to him when I got there.

Getting out of my car, I walked up to the crowd in search of Damon. Everyone around me were either hammering on wood or painting the structures in the park. I found Damon and Caroline under a canopy, Caroline painting and Damon standing around.

"You really left me at the house?" I asked when I got to them.

"We'll talk about this later" Damon replied, leaving me alone with Caroline.

"What's up with you two?" Caroline asked.

"He's not happy with me at the moment" I replied, walking away from Caroline. I kept an eye on Damon but gave him some distance. At least until I saw him start conversing with Mason. Mason had left before I had gotten to them but Stefan must've had the same idea I had because he walked up to Damon when I did.

"Please tell me you were just bonding" Stefan spoke up.

"So what's up with this, faux drama in your relationship?" Damon asked, ignoring the comment.

"What are you talking about?" Stefan asked.

"Oh, come on Stefan. You and Elena don't fight, especially not over me" Damon replied.

"Am I missing something here?" I asked, folding my arms over my chest.

"Drop it Damon" Stefan copied my posture.

"Okay. With pleasure" Damon turned around.

"Would you like some lemonade?" The little girl asked, holding out a cup of lemonade to him.

"Thank you, sweetie" Damon said, grabbing the lemonade from the girl. Damon took a big gulp of the lemonade, only to spit it out a few seconds later.

"Damon?" I hurried up to him, patting his back as if he was a toddler and I was trying to burp him after a feeding.

"Vervain" Damon gasped. "Vervain." Stefan and I got him to sit down on the bench and Stefan grabbed the cup Damon had drank out of. Damon jumped up from the bench, walking away from everyone and grabbing a bottle of water. "I've had worse" Damon growled before gurgling the water and spitting it out. "I'm gonna kill him."

"Hey, hey no wait" Stefan restrained him. "Listen to me, sit." Stefan forced him to sit down.

"I'm not listening to any more of your give peace a chance crap" Damon replied, moving Stefan's hands off of him. "He's dead."

"Okay. I don't like it but he's making threats, he could expose us. We need to put him down" Stefan agreed.

"Damon seemed taken aback but instantly gained his composure "alright, let's do it. Woods. Trash duty come on." Damon stood up to head into the woods but stopped and turned to face me. "Stay here. I mean it." I scoffed, crossing my arms again but stayed put as they went off after Mason. After waiting for about 10 minutes I decided to go search for them but before I could even get into the woods, Caroline was in front of me.

"Danica. It's Stefan and Damon, my mom has them and Elena needs help" Caroline informed me, slightly panicking.

"Take me to them" I told her, leading her into the woods. I jumped on her back and within seconds we were at what seemed to be a cellar. "They down here?" I asked. She nodded my head and that's all it took for me to run down the steps. I ran in and saw a plank of wood laying down on the floor, and quietly picked it up.

"Who else is with you?" I heard Liz ask, and I allowed myself to be seen.

"You're not gonna kill them" I told her, holding up the plank. "Not without a fight first." I knocked out the closest officer to me, hitting him with the plank. And suddenly Caroline and another deputy were in front of me, Sheriff Forbes shooting one of her own officers when she was aiming at me. Caroline then went to the others, biting into their necks. Once she was done, her breathing was heavy and she was hiding in the shadows. Slowly but surely she came into the light, showing her own mother what she had become.

"Hi mom" Caroline spoke up, looking her mother directly in the eyes. Her mother's expression could only be described as one thing, devastation. Liz slowly backed away, sitting down on one of the jagged stones sticking out of the foundation. Within a few short minutes, Damon and Stefan were up and moving, Damon more so than Stefan because he drank some blood from one of the fallen deputies.

"You need some deputy blood" Damon told Stefan.

"No. I'll be okay, it's going to take a little bit longer" Stefan denied.

"Well, Damon's right you know" Caroline spoke up. "If there's ever a time to break your diet-"

"He said he didn't want it, okay?" Elena cut her off.

Damon got to his feet, slightly limping and said "this is the most unfortunate situation. Two deputies dead. And you" he turned to Liz. "What am I going to do with you?" Liz just stared up at him, tears in her eyes.

"You won't tell anyone, will you?" Caroline asked her mom, blood stained around her mouth. Liz stayed quiet, turning away from Caroline. "Mom? Mom, please. Look I know that we don't get along and that you hate me but I'm your daughter. You'll do this for me right? Mom, please. He will kill you."

"Then kill me" Liz finally spoke up.

"No" Caroline's voice cracked.

"I can't take this. Kill me now" Liz said, causing Damon to step towards her.

"Damon" I warned, stepping closer to them.

Damon got in her face, ignoring both Caroline and I's advances "but you were going to drag it out so painfully.  Damon grabbed Liz by her forearms, forcing her to stand up.

"No, no, no" Caroline begged.

"Damon!" I warned again, this time with more aggression in my tone.

"Damon don't!" Stefan joined in.

"Damon, please" Elena begged.

"Relax guys. No one's killing anybody" Damon responded. Everybody let out a sigh of relief as Damon continued to Liz. "You're my friend." Damon then turned back to all of us. "We need to clean this up."

"Hey" I greeted Damon as he walked into the room.

"Hey" he sighed, pulling his shirt off. "Thank you. For today. Stefan and I probably would be dead if it weren't for you and Elena."

"Oh, you're welcome" I looked down at my hands.

"I've been thinking" Damon started. "About what we've been arguing about and I don't think it's that bad of an idea. If you turn you'll be able to protect yourself and you'll be safer when I'm not with you."

"Yeah?" I questioned.

"Yeah" Damon nodded. "I'll do it. I'll turn you."
