Part ⅓
If there was any basic lesson he always forgot to follow, it was the rule about always paying attention to where you were walking. Kaminari could recall several times in his short sixteen years where he had walked face-first into a pole because he had been looking at his phone and not the street.
And right now was no different... well aside from what he had just walked into.
"Ouch..." A voice called out from before him and Kaminari's eyes lit up when he realized it had been a person he walked into and had as a result sent them onto the ground as well.
"Oh, man! Are you okay?!" Kaminari called out and was looking at the girls with chocolate hair and matching chocolate eyes. "Ah! I'm such an idiot..."
The girl held her hands up and laughed. "It's okay... I wasn't looking where I was going either. I was on my..."
The girl started to frantically look around and then relaxed. It looked like her phone and this boy's phone had landed right next to one another and not into the fountain that was literally a foot away from where they had fallen.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Kaminari asked her again. "UA's campus can really scrape you up if you trip..."
"I'm fine! Really!" She told him and then laughed. "Are you okay though?"
"M-Me? Yeah! A little fall can't knock me down!" He tried to play it off cool.
"Well glad to see that you're okay!" The girl continued to talk to him and then gently held out a hand to him. "I'm Aaliyah by the way. Might as well be polite after I knocked you off your feet."
"Kaminari." He responded and shook her hand.
Kaminari felt his chest beat a tiny bit and internally noted how soft and warm her hand was. His thoughts about the girl before him continued, and he held onto her hand a little longer than socially acceptable.
Even so, Aaliyah didn't seem to mind.
But it looked like something else on her mind was making her worry. She managed to get her hand back and then looked at Kaminari. She gave him an apologetic smile and Kaminari could tell that this interaction was about to be cut short.
Judging by her quick actions, she must have to be somewhere."
"Oh! I should get going!" Aaliyah perked up and confirmed his thoughts. "If I'm late... I'm never gonna hear the end of it!"
"Don't worry at all then!" Kaminari gave her a serious expression. "I understand the panic of nearly being late to something!"
Aaliyah chuckled and nodded her head. She snagged her phone and then stood up finally. They really had been attracting some attention seeing as they both had just been sitting on the ground and talking as if it was perfectly normal to do so while other students tried to pass by.
Aaliyah waved goodbye and then dashed off in the direction she had originally been heading. As Kaminari watched her go, part of him was upset that he wasn't able to get her number or even a possible date. She was cute after all.
With a sigh, scolding himself for his mistake and missed opportunity, the electric blonde stood up himself and started on his way back to his dorm. He arrived at his dorm in a blur and then found himself laying on his bed and looking up at the ceiling.
What to do now?
Homework? No way.
Video games? Not feeling it.
Maybe Kirishima was free and they could do something. The redhead always had ideas and they always had similar tastes. With a huff, Kaminari sat up on his bed and grabbed his phone in his pocket. He hummed to himself and watched as the lock screen lit up.
He blinked and turned the lock screen off. Then turned it back on. Then off. And finally on once more. Well... that wasn't his lock screen and he clearly wasn't imagining it seeing as it stayed on the screen.
An image of some popular anime was the screensaver for the lock screen. And seeing as he had run into someone earlier where he had knocked his phone out of his hand and onto the ground... he could only come to one conclusion about what had happened.
But how did it happen?! He knew what his phone looked like and this screensaver was not his? Was he just not paying attention or was this something else completely? He didn't know... but he was going to investigate and find the answer to this mystery.
Turns out it was an easy mystery to unravel, as all he had to do was turn the phone over. Kaminari turned the phone around and saw what had led to this little mistake. This was his phone case or at least another copy of it. Dammit! Why did he have to like all the popular stuff!?
He whined, having no idea how to contact the owner of this phone when... he had her phone.
He started to wrack his brain and try to find the solution. His golden eyes lit up as one came to him and he looked back down at the phone. Even if it wasn't his phone, he could still call his phone! All he had to do was-
The screensaver was asking for a password. Not a four-digit one... but one that had the entire keyboard as options. He gulped and found himself going to plan B! Find someone in his class, beg to use their phone, and then call his phone.
But yet again... he ran into a problem as he was walking to his door.
Kaminari paled as a new thought entered his head. He let out a deep groan of frustration, put Aaliyah's phone down, and then ran his hands through his locks in a poor attempt to calm himself down upon this realization of his. He once more felt like the biggest moron in this world.
Who forgot their phone number after all? Him apparently.
