[2023] Sabotaged Accident

"Ms. Sunny!" I heard one of our house helpers call me from outside my bedroom and knocked a few times.

"Yes?" I replied while looking at the door.

"Ms Christine and Sir Adrian wants you downstairs. A few police officers are downstairs," she told me.

"Alright, I'll be down in a few minutes." I replied before getting up from my bed.

I hurriedly grabbed my hair clip and clip my hair neatly. I put on a long cardigan to cover my arms and some part of my chest since I was just wearing thin clothe and headed downstairs with my phone in my hand.

"Good morning," I greeted as I entered the living room.

"Good morning, Ms Sunny," the police officer greeted me with a smile.

"Hello," I smiled back before walking to sit next to mom.

"Well, I guess everyone of us are here. Cavin is in the office. So, he wouldn't be joining us," mom said.

I raised my eyebrows, "What's up?" I asked.

The police officers then start to explain the reason they came to us today without any notice beforehand. I was surprised when they said they found evidence of sabotage on the car.

"What do you mean it was sabotaged?" I questioned them, surprised.

A police officer placed some photos on the table. The photos showed that the car was opened up. Everything was opened up for investigation. A few photos showed that the brakes were cut off. There was a sign of it was cut off.

"The brake was cut off. It was clearly cut off by someone. Which means, this is a planned accident. A crime. Someone did crime on Mr Daniel."

I picked up some of the photos and looked at them for a few seconds. I turned to Adrian and he signs me to bring the photo to him since he is still injured and not recovered yet, he couldn't walk or get up on his own yet. I showed him the photo and he sighed.

"We are currently sweeping every CCTV to track back where the car had gone the day of the accident. Mr Adrian, do you know anyone who has bad relationship with you?" The police officer asked.

He shook his head, "No. I don't know if someone hates me or us." He answered before looking at me.

I nodded to assure him, "I don't know if anyone hates us." I added.

The police officer nodded, "We need your permission to give us warrant to investigate your company staff. Our main suspect for now is the board of directors."

"They were waiting for papa to resign," Adrian said. I looked at Adrian, "What?" I asked in disbelief.

"Can you explain more about what you mean the board of directors were waiting for papa to resign?" The police officer asked.

"They wanted his place. They wanted my place, Sunny's place and Cavin's place. I just remembered this. I heard this from someone else. They wanted to throw Sunny away first and then, Cavin." Adrian said.

"Why would they do that? No, I refuse to believe that. They are good people. That's why papa put them in the board of directors," Mom said.

Adrian and I kept silent. I exhaled, "People change when money starts making them greedy." I muttered.

"They were a few projects that they issued to papa but it was rejected because they investment deposit was too high and it makes it riskier. It's different than investing in HYBE Label which papa had done ever since 2014," Adrian said while looking at me.

"Papa also rejected it because the company was known to make low quality products with high price value. So, we were not interested in it. I think it was a project for making roads and some huge bridges and highways." Adrian continued.

I exhaled and shook my head lightly.

"It has been confirmed by the Chief Police Officer of Sabah that the late Tan Sri' Dato Daniel James' accident was not a whole accident but was confirmed to be a murder case."

"The police also stated that they will continue the investigation until the case comes to bright. It was been 8 days since the passing of the late father of Malaysian born K-Pop idol and she is still in a mourning period. Reportedly, she is still in her hometown and will be here for some time."

I sighed before lowering the volume of the television.

"Why the sigh?"

I turned towards the voice and exhaled in relief when seeing Adrian.

"You startled me," I told him as he wheeled himself nearer.

"You were just too focus," he said.

"Where is mommy?" I asked him since he was talking with our mom just now.

"Upstairs," he replied.

I exhaled and shake my head.

"Don't be too stressed out. The police will figure it all out." Adrian said. I shook my head again, "Do you think I can easily forgive the people who planned this?" I asked him and look at him.

"No one told you to forgive them," he replied. I raised my eyebrows, "No, I don't think you understand."

"And I don't think you understand the reality right now," he replied.

"I can't just forgive them. They need to be caught as soon as possible. They are the cause of you paralyzing right now," I told him.

"I'm not paralyze. I can't move my legs because it's painful." He said.

"Yeah, because you get your legs squeezed. I really can't understand it how much jealousy do they have towards us until they want to plan this murder. They are murderers. They nearly killed you. Papa and our driver died. They killed two people and they messed with the wrong people."

"They definitely did mess up with the wrong people," Adrian said.

"I don't get it. Why..." I said and exhaled once more. "As far as I know, papa wanted nothing but peace with every single person in this world and I don't know why would they be this cruel!"

"They are lucky enough to be a part of the board of directors! They have huge allowance and salary! Why would they want papa's place again? Why your place or Cavin's place again? I can't imagine how cruel they are if they are really the one who planned to kill papa!"

"Hey, we don't know yet if they are the ones." Adrian said, holding my hands.

"Even if they aren't the one, this was a plan. This is murder. This is intolerable!" Sunny said again while tears rolled down her cheeks. Adrian sighed seeing his sister like this.

"Cry... Cry all you want." Adrian muttered while rubbing Sunny's back.

"You kept it all on your own."

"I know."
