Chapter 5 : "I'm sorry"

It was Thursday morning and I felt normal.

Not blank, not scared, not sad. Normal.

I began to feel like myself again. Even though I didn't have Emma to be with me, but I still had Eli.

I also have Lia and Kenny.

My mom had work early, so she wasn't home.

I got ready, then ate some cereal and orange juice.

Once I was finished, I left. I got on the bus to see Anthony and his friends finally not being obnoxious.

They didn't even look at me.

It was a good morning so far.

Kenny got on the bus and sat with me.

We were talking, and somehow brought up karate.

"Yeah, I tried to join a dojo called 'Cobra Kai' but I wasn't good enough, so this kid Robby is helping me." said Kenny.

"Wait... You're training with Robby Keene?" I asked.

"Yeah, he's really good. My brother suggested I go to him."

"Kenny.. I have something to tell you."

But before I could speak, we arrived at the school.

"Well, I'll see you at lunch." he said.

"Yeah.. see you at lunch." I said back.

There is no way Kenny is training with a Cobra Kai student.

I got off the bus and saw Emma laughing with her friends.

She glanced at me and rolled her eyes.

I couldn't help but feel angry. Eli told me not to let anyone treat me like that anymore, so I wasn't gonna take her shit.

So, I walked up to her and said it like it is.

"Hey Emma!" I said.

"Huh?" she answered.

"If you have something to say about me, say it to my face." I said.

She just giggled and walked away.

That bitch.

I walked to my first period class and sat next to Anthony.

We didn't say a word to each other. Not one word.

Not until he spoke up, after the lesson of course.

"Hey, uh, I'm sorry for what I said yesterday." he said.

"What?" I asked.

"I was being rude, all over a stupid tag game. I'm sorry."

I was amazed on how he still didn't take the hint on how that's NOT the problem.

"You are such an idiot." I said, still not even looking at him.

"What?" he asked, confused.

"You really think gym is the problem here?"

"I don't understand."

"Anthony, you know what you did."

"I-"

"You know what I'm talking about, Ant! Pranking Kenny, making him think that Lia was gonna hang out with him. And then completely humiliating him and chasing after him. Really, you think I don't know about that?"

"Oh, I, uh..."

"Yeah, you have no words. Because you know it was wrong. The worst part is you haven't even apologized to me about it, after asking me to be friends."
