Chapter 8

Jimmy's POV

'Well, Y/n was right about this place being very unkempt' I thought to myself as we took our lanterns out to scan around this new area. Dust particles float in the air making me cough from inhaling some. The hallway was empty, ahead of us led to a flight of stairs. We both looked at each other before heading upstairs. At the top of the stairs were two paths to take. To the left was a long hallway that led to a bunch of closed doors with a corner turning right, and to the right another long hallway but except only one door.

"I'll go to the right while you take the left," I suggested as Danny looked at me, unsure that this was a good idea.

"We can't just split up just like that, we need to stick together," Danny said, narrowing his eyes.

"What, afraid of ghosts?" I teased with a smirk.

"Ha ha, very funny." Danny said sarcastically, seeing that he himself is half ghost after all.

"Besides, It's not like anyone lives here, we will meet back here and report what we find once we're done looking."

He nodded and headed to the left. I cautiously walked the other way, taking out my ray gun just In case something popped out.

I looked at the picture frames as I headed down the hallway towards the lonely door, they were covered in dust so I could hardly see what was taken on them. As I finally reach the door, I looked at the sign above it. I lifted up my lantern to read the sign clearly:

~ Basement ~

Putting the ray gun in my pocket to open the door. I could feel the pieces of rusted metal in my hand as I turned the doorknob, opening the door to reveal a set of stairs leading downward. I took in a breath and headed downstairs, I continued my descent until I reached a doorway. Cracked the door open to peek inside to see what was in there. Surprisingly this room was well kept as someone had already been here recently, in fact, whoever has here left not too long ago. I walked cautiously in, they might still be in here. I looked around the room, holding up my lantern to scan the area around me. The light shined on 5 containers big enough to fit any person against the wall. Then the light caught the table right in front of me. Curious, I walked towards it. It was covered in a beautiful red cloth and it looked as if they're some utensils underneath.

'Strange...' I thought to myself.

My curiosity grew more the closer I got. Reaching my hand out to see what was underneath. with a deep breath, I pulling the sheet away to reveal its contents. I really wish I hadn't.

"No..." I said, shaking my head as I took a step back, horrified at what I was seeing.

My heart quickened at the sight. 'I have to get out of here!' I thought frantically as I made a dash to exit the room towards the stairs. Yes, It would be a shame not to find the answers to incidents that were caused by this place but the risk is too high to take now that someone might still be here.

The door quickly slammed shut in front of me with a click, I jiggled the knob seeing that it was locked now.

"Going somewhere?" The voice spoke from behind me, I recognized that voice. I spun around shining my lantern to reveal...Him.

Or rather, another me except the hair was a little messier than mine, he was wearing the same clothes but wearing a black fur-hooded jacket that was ripped in a few places.

"You again..."

"Surprised to see me? I would've guessed that you would come here. " He said with an evil grin on his face, making me uncomfortable. I took out my ray gun, ready to fire if need be.

"Now now, there's no need to be violent. I'm not here to hurt you-"

"What do you want?" I interrupted with a hint of rage.

"I just came to talk, surely you haven't forgotten about our little chat?"

"I told you before and I'll say it again, I won't do it." I said sternly

He only chuckled at that statement. "But you will eventually."

"I'M NOT THAT TYPE OF PERSON!! I'm not gonna be the one who would put my friends at risk!"

"But that's where you're wrong. I know you will, all it takes is a simple should I say, 'Incident' to happen."

"YOU WOULDN'T DARE!!!" I shouted, my rage starting to build with each passing minute.

"I have no interest in hurting them. I tried that already, but I have other ways."

"Even so, I'm not taking advice from you."

"Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy. Must we always do this the hard way?" He said taking a step closer to me.

Danny's POV

I started to hear yelling on the other side accompanied by loud thumping and phaser noises from across the hallway. It was then I knew that Jimmy was in trouble.

"JIMMY!!" I shouted as I ran towards the direction that he headed while convincing myself not to go ghost. The door's speed passed me as I sprinted towards the direction of the noise till I skidded to a halt outside the door with the sign that said "basement".

Apparently, the door was already open considering that no doubt that he entered there.

I swung the door open revealing a flight of stairs leading downstairs, I ran downstairs and halted outside the door, Jiggling the knob to find out that it was locked, I heard grunting noises from inside. Remembering, I used my ghost powers to phase through the door into the dark room, using the lantern to scan the area then I pointed it to the floor. It's exactly what I feared. there in the middle of the room lay Jimmy, motionless on the floor.

~Meanwhile at the house~

"Now Timmy, you heard what he said, you can't just walk out gallivanting around the place not knowing where you're going and who knows where you might end up." Wanda said sternly floating midair with Cosmo by her side.

After Danny and Jimmy left, Timmy ran to Y/n's room to make sure she wasn't awake then to Spongebob's room then hurried back to his room to tell his fairies Cosmo and Wanda who were still sleeping in their bowls about it. Of course, Wanda decided against the idea of him going after them. Timmy was pacing back and forth while Wanda was telling him reasons why he couldn't go by himself even with Cosmo and Wanda by his side.

Just when he was about to make up his mind, he heard the front door open. 

And on that note, I'm going to stop here cause i'm gonna be gone for a few days but that's fine cause it would give me time to think of what would come next in this fic so I hope It was enjoyable so far (I hope It wasn't too cringy x_x) bye!
