Conversations (A Hotchniss fanfic!)

This is serious!

So long has passed since that first kiss in the office, what had it been 9 months? A year? Yeah it had been a year.

Hayley had noticed how close Emily had been getting to Aaron. In all honesty she was happy for him. They didn't work, she had moved on, so why shouldn't he? And who would understand the job and hours better than someone who worked with the FBI as well?

Their relationship was still going strong. They remained professional at work and kept their lives separate. Emily and Aaron lived at home, Prentiss and Hotch worked for the FBI.

Emily and Aaron were spending almost all their spare time together. They either stayed at Emily's or the stayed at Aaron's.

Aaron wanted Jack to like Emily. But he wanted it to happen naturally, instead of forcing a new parental figure to him... So when Jack came over Emily would come around to spend time with him, but she would always be with Aaron. Until one afternoon when Hotch got called away!

*Flashing back 3 weeks ago*

"Aaron? Honey?" Emily called from the living room looking for her boyfriend.

"Yeah sweetie I'm in the kitchen!" He called back.

"What time does Jack attack get here?" She asked wrapping her arms around his waist from behind.

He turned in her arms to face her and gave her a quick kiss.

"Around one, He's going to visit his grandpa first with Hayley."

"So we have a few hours?" She asked with a grin on her face..

"Hmm it appears we do.. What will we do to pass the time" He replied matching her grin.

Aaron squirmed from her grasp and wrapped his arms around her. He spun them so she was against the counter and lifted her up to sit on it. He kissed her hard, the kiss was full of passion and lust. Her hands found his hair and she gripped it. He kept her close and trailed kisses down her neck. His eyes met hers and he pulled her from the counter top and pulled her toward the bedroom.

The lay there tangled in each others arms, together. So peaceful until they were distracted by Hotch's phone ringing.

"Hotchner" He answered.
"I'm booked off for the whole weekend!"
"How bad is it?"
"Alright I'll be there in 20 minutes"

Emily looked up as he got up to grab some things.

"What's going on Aaron?"

"It's fine honestly, it was Rossi." He smiled at her to try and boost the mood.

"Rossi's calls don't usually go like that, do we have a case?"

"No we don't, It's... Erin.." He stuttered out.

"Strauss?" She questioned with a puzzled look on her face.

"Yeah she's been drinking and its progressively getting worse, she's just turned up to the office, and it's bad, I'm sorry I didn't tell you but Rossi wanted it kept secret!"
He looked to her to see her reaction and waited on her answer.

"There's is no need to apologise you were just being a good friend! Go, help, wait what about Jack?" She asked.

"I know! I'm sure I'll be back in time for him? He's due in about an hour?"

"Take the time you need to sort this, I'll watch Jack... As long as you don't mind?"

She hadn't even realised she'd offered to watch him alone. This would be the first time. But it felt so natural.

He went up to her and pulled her from the bed and embraced her in a warm hug.

"Why would I mind? It's great to see you with Jack! As long as you don't mind watching him"

"I love Jack, he's just like his daddy" She said smiling.

He kissed her deeply and then went on to get changed. She quickly made the bed and threw some clothes on. She walked him to his truck and they said there goodbyes.

"I love you and thank you for going to watch Jack"

"I love you too now go sort this"

He drove off and Emily went in the house to sort out some stuff she could do with Jack.

Right on time, Hayley arrived with Jack. She seemed hasty at first leaving her son with Emily, but If Aaron trusted her, it must be okay.

Jack and Emily baked some cookies and played 'Just Dance' on the Wii and then decided to settle down for a movie.

He chose "Up".

The sat on the couch and he cuddled into her. Sometime through the movie they fell asleep and that is how Aaron found them when he came home. He didn't bother to wake them, just let them sleep. He'd wake them once dinner was ready, he was just so happy to see his girlfriend getting on so well with his son. They were already like a family.

*Flashing back to the future*

They were lying in bed almost drifting off when Hotch turned Emily over and moved her hair out her eyes.

"Aaron I was almost sleeping" she said questioning his reasons for waking her.

"I know and I'm sorry but this couldn't wait, I've been thinking recently and I don't know why I haven't asked sooner but, I want to know, will you move in with me?" He asked nervously, this was a big step in the relationship.

She looked at him in awe, she could believe what he has just said.

"Are you serious?" She asked not quite believing him.

"Yeah I'm serious, we are serious, this is serious? Isn't it?"

She grabbed his neck and pulled him in for the deepest kiss they may have ever shared. He moved them so she was straddling him still kissing.

Once they broke the kiss she looked into his eyes.

"Yes Aaron, this is all serious and I'd love to move in with you!"

They kissed once again and then cuddled together. Emily drifted off to sleep but Aaron lay there thinking about everything he has, a wonderful son, a nice house and this woman lying beside him who he loved very much. Yeah he was a luck man he thought to himself as he let sleep take him over.
