I press the button next to the door before the door was unlocked from the reception of the ward. When I enter, the nurses greeted me with good morning in a soft voice.
I smiled blandly, "Good morning."
"Dr. Richard is in Mr Adrian's room right now. I think he would want to see you, Ms Sunny." The nurse told me. I nodded, "Thank you for telling me." I thanked her before walking toward Adrian's room.
I knocked on the door twice before opening the door slowly. I saw Dr. Richard and a female nurse was in the room.
"Oh, Ms. Sunny. Luckily, you're here." Dr. Richard said while writing on his writing board in his hands.
"Yes, the nurse at the reception told me that you want to see me," I said to him as I approached Adrian's bed. I exhaled softly as I stand next to Adrian's bed.
He's in a coma. After the surgery, he went straight into a coma. Anytime, he could collapse. Machines and needles and wires are connected to him. He's in a lot of numbing medicine to numb all his pain. He has lots of steel to replace his bones in the flesh. When he wakes up, he's gonna feel a lot of pain. So much pain.
"I have good news for you regarding Adrian," Dr. Richard said.
"What is it?" I asked while holding Adrian's hand.
"He's out of the brain coma. He has started to respond to lights, to movements, to touch. He's awake. Just, with his eyes closed and he couldn't move. He can hear us right now." Dr. Richard said.
I gasped softly, "Really?" I asked and turn to Adrian.
"Yes. He's recovering way faster than I expected. His body is stronger than average person. His wounds are also recovering really fast. It may also be because of his mindset. He wants to wake up soon and when he thinks about that, his body will help him. Physically, the body will help his mind." Dr. Richard said. I smiled and squeezes Adrian's hand slightly.
"That's really good news. Thank you, Doctor." I smiled.
"You're welcome. Where is your mother?" He asked me. "At home. I asked her to rest. Cavin and the rest are also at home. Since the accident, none of us really had good rest. Plus, mom cried a lot and was dehydrated during the burial place. So, I told her to rest since yesterday." I told him.
He nodded and smiled blandly, "I'm sorry for your loss."
I smiled and shook my head, "Don't be. That's how life is. The cycle of life. You like it or not, when someone has died, they die." I said and exhaled.
"You know, I know your parents ever since I was a 5-year-old boy. They are friends with my parents too. Close friends actually," he said while putting his papers on the table at the end of the bed.
"Oh?" I raised my eyebrows and smiled.
"Yeah. They are good people. Humble and generous. Your mother especially. Really loves children." He said. I chuckled and nodded, "She loves children too much."
