Chapter 12

Stitch's POV

I head my way back to the base after causing that huge distraction. Dang that got my heart racing! I should head back... But first... it wouldn't hurt anyone if I decided to explore this world a bit to relax and calm my nerves! I turn on my radio.

"Newbie! Great job with the distraction! We'll see you back at base!" I hear Knuckles praise. I smile before responding,

"I will. I'm just gonna spend some time exploring before I return. I will try to let you know if I run into any trouble."

"A patrol. Good idea, newbie" Nightly comes through, a snicker gleaming in her voice at the nickname. I roll my eyes, smiling. Hmm... I could definitely learn to be snarky like that in some battles. I ran to a different location, hoping to see more of the beautiful landscape without any bots. Seeing a big hill, I decided to start scaling it, hoping to get a better look at the world. Sure, some bots were in the way, but they are no match for me or my Gaster Blasters. I'm lucky that they only see them for a split second before they are destroyed. If anyone saw one of my Blasters floating at my side, then I'd probably be in trouble. Making it up to the top, I look around. Man... this world is beautiful.

"I didn't know other people like to look out from my favourite spot" I freeze. I thought I was alone. I quickly spin in the direction the voice came from. And there stood a blue female hedgehog. HUH!? "Oh! Sorry! Didn't mean to freak you out!" She then holds out her hand. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Breeze. Breeze the Hedgehog." I look over at her again, noticing that her eyes are very similar to Sonic's. Huh!?

"Um... I'm Stitch..." I hesitate, shaking her hand. She smiles, then looks out onto the landscape.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" She looks at me. I slowly nod, slightly paranoid.

"Yeah... minus all the robots." She laughs.

"Yeah. definitely could do without all those rust buckets." Hmm... seems to be on the resistance side.

"Um... sorry if this is rude, but are you with the resistance?" Breeze looks back at me.

"Well, I'm not exactly with them, but I am definitely against Eggface and what he's planning. I just do my own thing, destroying robots and all that."

"Well, if you want, I could have someone come and bring you back to base and make you an official member!" I offer, holding my hand out. She glances at my hand and looks like she backs up a breath.

"I'll think about it..." She then perks up and sees something down on the ground. "I better go. Gotta destroy more robots! Catch ya later!" She then speeds off, leaving me by myself. Did she just speed off like Sonic?! Ok, that is definitely strange. I shake my head. I'll ask Sonic about it later. I use my web shooters and travel across the land, avoiding any bots that would be in my way if I ran through there. I continue to swing before finding a nice spot to land. Upon landing, I heard a slight rumble. Of course I'm hungry. I haven't exactly eaten properly for the past few days. I open a small portal and pull out some quick food and inhale it all. As I take my last bite, I hear a groan not too far from me. Hm? Keeping myself hidden, I make my way to where I heard the irritated growls.

"Grr, those resistance pests and their clever little plots. They're like something on your shoe that you can't wipe off." Is that... Eggman!? I peek from where I'm hiding to see that he is there! Alongside two robots and... Infinite. Oh boy... I best not get caught here. Or else I'm most likely dead.

"It appears they have taken our legs right out from under us. Quite impressive, really." one of the robots speaks, which prompts a reply from the other one

"I don't have legs. Neither do you, dude."

"Don't remind me, dude" these two are amusing, but Eggman doesn't seem to think so

"Five more hours before the plan is executed. Infinite, let's make a tactical retreat so that we can re-mobilize our forces." Infinite is clearly Not impressed by that

"And by 'Tactical Retreat' you mean to say, 'flee with our tails between our legs.' i'm quite displeased about this, Doctor" his sarcastic comment almost makes me laugh, which would've made my location known. I hold my breath in an attempt to make myself more quiet. I'd rather pass out sorta quietly than laugh at the comment and get caught. I peek over at them again.

"Shut up and just follow m-" the more square of the two robots spots my head, yelping in alarm. Curses! Eggman looks, a flash of Heavy annoyance in his expression, before waving his arm at Infinite "Deal with her!!! THEN follow me!" I hiss, backing away from my hiding place, giving myself more space to dodge if need be, glaring daggers at Infinite, who stares back right before warping. Oh Shi- I hear the noise again as i feel Infinite's presence behind me.

"So... the resistance sent another insignificant life to stop the doctor..." I grit my teeth as i spin around, in hopes to roundhouse kick the Jackal in the chest. But its to no avail. "You've got spirit... I'll give you that... but in the end, you will lose this fight."

"OH SHUT UP! You talk too much!" I growl, glaring at him. Returning the glare, he adjusts his mask and looks back at me.

"You do realize that this fight won't make a difference in the Doctor's plan. It is just delaying the inevitable." I roll my eyes... if only i had a dollar every time i heard that word.

"Like i care. Keeping you busy is still keeping you busy!" I charge, pulling out my wispon. He dodges.

"I have come to realize that we never officially met. Whenever we were in the same place, you were always around the bigger Mobian, for you to tremble behind." Ok, this isn't scaring me... this is just angering me!

"Sure, we didn't officially meet, but i never said i was afraid of you!" I go in for another attack, barely missing him. ARGH!!!

"You should be... and you will fear me when i'm done with you" Not breaking eye contact, he charges at me, ramming me in the chest. I get launched back but i get back up on my feet. Good... he's gonna give it his all, and so will I!
