Chapter 2

"Ughhh!!" Carrie moaned a little to loudly as she slumped against her dirty locker, her pony tail clinging to her face.

"What?" Giggled Kali as she shut hersmudgy locker door and turned to Carrie.

"I've got english with Mr.Ferington!!" whined Carrie slamming her locker door.

"You've had him for english the whole year!"

"I know but I didnt finish my shakespeare assignment and he's gonna be pissed!"

Kali laughed to herself. Carrie was never doing assignment and always had 1000 excuses as to why she didnt do them. Kali on the other hand would always make sure she had done assignments, she couldn't stand the thought of not handing one in, even though the highest grade she would ever get was a B- .

"Oh well after today you dont have to see him for two whole days!" Kali said reassuringly. 

"Oh great!" Carrie replied sarcastically.

"Anyway I gotta go to math!" Kali said patting Carrie's shoulder.

"Seeya." Carrie smiled.

Kali met up with Jade who she normally sat with in Maths. She had long straight red hair that suited her so well and big brown eyes. Her and Kali's Mum's new each other from when they both used to work at Lucy's Lunch Bar a few years ago. The rest of the day went by really fast and before Kali knew it she was home. She decided to spend the night in and just watch 'America's Next Top Model' on foxtel while her sister was up in her room.

"Hey Adi do you wanna come watch America's next top model?" Kali yelled from down in the kitchen, it was already 7:30 and was getting dark outside. Her Mum had to stay back at work until late so she wasn't home yet.

"Nah I'm fine!" Adelaide yelled back. Kali heated up some popcorn and laid down on the couch. She absolutely loved weekends because it meant no school and she could just relax and not have to worry and it also gave her more time with friends and her family. Suddenly she felt her phone vibrate underneath her back and she jumped. It was from Carrie

Hey Luke's having a get together at his house and im gonna go do you wanna come? :) x

The last thing Kali felt like doing right now was going out she was already comfortable on the couch.

Sorry im feeling sick x

It was only 9:30 and already she could feel herself drifting off to sleep, she could hear the sound of Adelaide's music from upstairs and slowly she started to fall asleep.

OUCH! Kali whimpered as she rolled over and whacked her head against the arm of the couch. She sat up and realised she was still in the loungeroom. She stood up and turned the TV off and realised that her Mum musn't be home yet. She staggered into the kitchen and saw that it was 1am.

Where was here Mum?

She walked out and continued up the stairs trying not to make to much noise which was hard because she was still half asleep. She peeped her head into Adi's room to see if she was asleep. She looked around and couldn't see her.

"Adi?" she whispered to herself. She walked into the room and up to Adelaide's bed and patted around to see if she was there. Nothing. She quickly walked back to the door and flicked the light on. There was no sign of her anywhere. And what was really strange was that her bed was completely made, like she hadn't been there at all. Maybe she was in the bathroom? Kali closed the door and walked down the hall and to the bathroom to look for her. She walked in and once again flicked the light on but she was no where to be seen. Kali became a little worried because this wasn't like her sister. She would never sneak out she would always be at home, and even if she did she would always tell Kali. She walked back into her sisters room and looked around for her phone. It was on her bedside table. She  snatched it up and began looking through her text messages to see if she had gone anywhere. Nothing was in there about going anywhere, the latest text was at 9:45 to her friend Chloe and all they talked about was the ' big test on tuesday'.

Kali began to feel like something wasn't right but convinced herself that she was probably out somewhere, it was a Friday night afterall, she was just being paranoid She walked back downstairs to grab her phone and almost jumped out of her skin when she heard the back door slam. She quickly ran into the kitchen and hid behind the bench, only to realise that it was her Mum. 

"You scared me!" Kali sighed a sigh of relief as she walked out from the kitchen.

"Sorry love!" Her Mum replied.

"Hey was Adi going out somewhere?" Kali asked, playing with her fingers.

"Not that I know of, why?" her Mum asked.

"Oh nothing she's just not in her room,"

" Maybe she did go out somewhere then." Her Mum continued as she walked into the kitchen.

"Mmm." Kali muttered under her voice.

"Anyway im going up to bed, night." Kali walked back upstairs and plonked herself down on her bed, her plaits wacking her in the face.

She's probably out having fun! Kali thought to herself. She laid there for a few moments listening to her Mum downstairs then turned over and fell asleep.
