The duel-tailed fox stared in shock at what just happened
"B-but we destroyed the Phantom Ruby's power source" he stuttered out, as Eggman descended, just to explain to him... because that makes total sense
"Tsk tsk. Since you ALWAYS destroy the power source of my weapons, I decided to learn from my mistakes. I had a back-up power source created under Metropolis."
Violet's POV
So... This is Null Space... uhh... wow... very much full of nothing but Cubes.
"This Isn't where we were meant to end up. Let's head back." i look to Sonic, seeing him meet my gaze, making my heart skip a beat. Get yourself together, Violet. We're in a war, we can't be focussing on Feelings. "Everyone is waiting for us! Double boost?" he holds his fist out to me, which i bump, smiling, before we get out of there, while Sonic is talking. How can you Talk During this? "Nothing can contain the two of us at max power! Not even Null Space" that catches my attention, honestly. When we get out, i have to take a split second to readjust to the light. "Sup, everyone? I missed this place" Sonic radios to the others,
"What happened, Sonic?! You two just up and disappeared!" Knuckles exclaims
"Nothing happened. Literally" ha "now let's track down Eggman!" we make our way through the city, destroying Badniks, you know... just having a blast while looking for the big guy. Though it made me think about what Stitch did, and the others who were through it. It's hard to believe that both of them have that Power! And they're so Calm about it, too!
"How's the battle going?" i look over at him, seeing that he's radioing to the others again
"We've got them on the ropes! If our fleet can keep the upper hand, we should have things under control soon." Amy answers, prompting Rouge to perk up as well
"You're going to miss out on the fun if you don't hurry, Sonic." her words make him grab my hand, making me flinch slightly, and we run off. I can't help but feel my face heat up. Come on! This isn't the time! I return my focus to finding Eggman again. Looking around, I see him in his eggmobile on top of another building! Me and Sonic then jump behind him to which only Orbot notices. He then immediately starts tapping Eggman's shoulder.
"Excuse me? Boss." It takes a second before Eggman spins around, hitting Orbot in the process. I would feel more sorry for him if he weren't on Eggman's side.
"What!? It can't be! It's impossible to get out of the Phantom Ruby's null space!" Infinite glances at us and scoffs. I guess he also isn't impressed.
"Maybe by myself, but I had a little help from my friend here. Something you wouldn't understand, since you don't have any friends!" I hold back laughter at his little shot at Eggface, which only makes the doctor angrier.
"Grr... This changes nothing! Dr. Eggman will still have the last laugh!" He then flies away in his vehicle. I roll my eyes over to Sonic.
"Maybe he'd have more friends if he didn't talk about himself in the third person." I laugh.
"Totally!" Looking to the side, I notice Cubot actually nodding before Orbot smacks him as they both follow Eggman. That little interaction almost makes me laugh more. It was Completely unexpected. We soon go to reconvene with the rest of the resistance, and i see Nightly with Shadow, like she usually has been since she and Sonic found him.
"We've got less than an hour before Eggman's plan goes down," Knuckles says once he sees us approach.
"There's no more time. We have to break into the fortress, Now" Shadow adds, and his partner nods.
"Indeed, this is it– our last opportunity to bring peace back into the world" Silver looks reassuring, and i notice Tails a little upset
"But... when the battle ends, we'll have to part with Sonic–" uh- "I mean this Sonic– won't we?" he's looking at the shorter Sonic
"Yes, if the Phantom Ruby is gone, I guess he'll be returned to his dimension." Tails takes Amy's words, and smiles sadly to the Sonic
"Thank you for everything, Sonic. I'll never forget what you did for us."
"Save the sentiments for later. This is not over yet. We still have a battle to fight" Espio stops the farewells, his arms crossed where he stands
"Exactly. This is our last chance. Give it everything you've got!" Knuckles exclaims, shooting a fist in the air, causing a couple of us to copy before we go to get our armies, and go to face off against the Eggman army.
