The Class Prophecy of IV-Agoncillo in the Year 2023
By: Zenilie B. Perez
It’s a Monday morning. I’m preparing myself to go the hospital. I’m working as a Radiologic Technologist in St. Luke’s Medical City for five years.
I have just arrived and I have a patient complains about his dislocated and fractured right leg. I ask him to undergo MRI and x-ray. I never know at first that he is one of my former classmates, Jeremiah Cuizon. He is now a sports superstar probably on baseball that everyone seeks for his autograph. I give him the list of medicines that he has to buy and take for his medication. He told me that he will buy those as soon as possible. I told him also that the nearest drugstore here is owned by a business woman named, Marimar Cortez, build by Jonah Anne Ilagan, and the current Pharmacist is Claire Soronio .
It’s my lunch break. I open the television to watch news. While I’m browsing channels, someone caught my eye. It’s Merriel Loba giving entertainment to a live show. I think she is one of the guests of the show. I browse again and a dramatic film showed on the screen. I saw a familiar face again and he’s Ronald Eugene Mendoza. He acts like a superstar. I browse again and I saw Sean Elzid Verdey playing guitar. I remember what I had read on the newspaper before that he is the most popular guitarist at all this time.
The telephone beside me rings, it’s a call from another hospital informing me to a seminar. It will held at a hotel owned by Kristhiane Erol Yu and designed by Architect Erikka Andria Vargas. At the seminar, I never expected that I will meet again some of my former classmates namely Eunice Anne Sacnahon, registered nurse, Richelle Ann Rodriguez, a psychologist, and Jefferson Matthew Queri ,a pediatrician. Most of the people who attended the seminar are health advocators and personnel.
I’m going home at last. A billboard caught my eye while the stoplight turns red. I know who is in that. If I’m not mistaken, he is John Paul Guttirez modeling wardrobe designed by Shiena Taguinod. The company was owned by Romabelle Bautista. The pictures are taken by Renalyn Pastoral, a Professional Photographer and edited by Erikson Corpus, a professional graphic designer. I have heard that this company has many of accountants and Leah Fe Ayop is one of them.
I continue to drive as the stoplight turns green. When I’m in the middle of driving, I heard my tummy gets hungry so I stop the car and came in on a restaurant. It is owned by Aimee Oclaman. I really enjoyed the food. I’m really curious who the Head Chef here is. I am amazed to know that she is Louise Angelica Yacob.
I get in again in the car and turn on the radio. I heard good news. There have been a Filipino who first step in planet Mars and I’m proud to say that he is my former classmate, Rogin Alquerro. He’s now an astronaut and it’s really awesome what he has achieved. My concentration just ruin when I smell the delicious pastries in a bakery. I stop again to buy some of these. I’m glad to see my former classmate, Khim Valerie Ada baking pastries. She’s now a Professional Pastry Chef. She told me that the company was owned by Jessa Salinas and managed by Allen Gay Lomocso, both the restaurant and bakery. The one who is responsible for auditing is Andrea Faye Nonifara, a Certified Public Accountant.
I’m planning to go to abroad next week for a vacation probably on Canada. But for now I want to come back where I had study high school.
I’m now in front of the gate of my Alma matter, Fort Bonifacio High School. I’m still playing my nostalgia, reminiscing the memorable events in my high school life. I passed the gate and observing every change that I notice. Only a little bit has change in this place. The infrastructures are almost the same. It’s been six years since I last enter this place. The guard is courteous and let me go inside. I’ve first visit the clinic. I remember when I’m always here in my high school days helping the school nurses. I’m glad to see Marie Christian Jerica Reloj is now the school nurse together with Aldrin Lopez that is now the School Physician. I also visit the Dental Clinic and I saw Kristine Cadeliña in face mask doing tooth extraction to a student. She’s now the current School Dentist. I used the stair to go to the second floor and went to the faculty of Filipino Department to visit my former teachers. I never expected that I will see two of my former classmates namely Trina Mae Pesino and Maria Niel Diaz. We talk a little bit, chasing one’s experience. It’s nice being together with them again but the time passes quickly. I have to say bye again because I have to go on an electronic repair shop to renovate my laptop. I need this in Canada. I say see you soon as I get outside. As I walking, I saw group of students align. Suddenly, I notice that their teacher is Rose Anne Maldo teaching them how to play Sepak Takraw. I just wave my hand to her and left the school.
I drove the car to the nearest electronic repair shop. It’s nice that there have been person who assists me. I don’t notice at first that he is Patrick Hugos, a computer engineer. I’m not yet satisfied and I want to enhance the games of my laptop. He instructs me to go to the one who is next to him then I saw Jestony Alipda. He’s now a game developer. After he finished everything, he directs me to a computer programmer named Mark Jefferson Magarzo to install anti-virus.
I’m walking to the parking lot when a snatcher grabs my bag where my laptop is there. What the hell! I immediately contact emergency number to ask help and a familiar voice answer the call. She is Alizza Marie Daquioag.an NBI agent. I run the car as fast as I can. I got irritated when the road is almost not moving . I pushed the buzzer how many times. Suddenly, I had understood that the traffic is caused by the training of soldiers who jog in the side of the road. I notice that one of them is Ejane Dallog and she’s now working as a Liaison- Officer. Beside him was, John Rommer Carabal that is now an admiral. I’m out of control. I lost my temper. I just decided to call a lawyer. She is Joy Cindy Rotia working in Public Attorney’s Office.
Before I’m going to fly in Canada, I will attend a mass in a church this coming Sunday. The Church was constructed by Angelica Tan, a civil engineer. As I came in, a voice-like angel whispers to my ear. Her voice is still angelic. She is my friend Vivien Portes and she’s together with Mariden Ribano who composes the song she sings. I sit in one of the chairs then I kneel down to pray. I felt that someone sit beside me. He is now an owner of a construction company, Alexander Olayvar. After a couple of minutes, the mass started. I hear the mass with all my heart. When I got home, I pack my things up. My flight is tomorrow so I have to store energy.
At the airport, I’m excited to leave the country because there’s another environment waiting for me but I still nervous and a little bit frightened. It’s my first time to go abroad alone. I’d grown enough. Maybe I can take care of myself.
I’m now in Bangkok, Thailand. We have just a stop- over here. We have to take a ship to go to the next airport.
At the ship M/V Escoro’s Ship named after Christian Angelo Escoro ,which he is also the captain, I have seen Jess Beltran and Mario Gialolo that are both successful in their job. I also meet Eliczar Adonis Cruje that is now the Custom Admin of the ship that manages the export and import. Ronald Hernando is also in the ship working as a Chemical engineer together with Engelbert Dwin Limpin working as mechanical engineer.
We had stop again in Doha, Qatar to ride a plain. I felt tired at all this time. I felt dizziness and I think any hour I will commit vomiting. But I felt comfortable when I know Jethro Galindo, a pilot, will take care of everything. We landed safe and sound at Toronto Pearson International Airport. At last, I was here. I had step on the cool, hard ground of Toronto. I’m now dashing to the snow. But I need to have a hotel to check in. It’s very cold that I will have cough or colds.
I’m now on a hotel. I’m very lucky because I’m discounted 50%off because one of my closest friends is working here. She is Reycel Andes. I never thought I will see her again. I sleep in comfort until the morning shows.
Today is my first day in Toronto. It is sad that I’m alone but it’s okay. I’ll just buy them remembrance here. While I’m choosing paraphernalia, somebody hold what I used to grab too. I notice him. He’s also one of my closest friends. He has change a lot. I don’t know what will I call him. Is it Ms. or Mr.? But hey, He’s now a medical technologist working on one of the biggest hospital in Toronto. I see it in his uniform. He is Icko Noel Velasco.
How great God is given us enough wisdom to reach our goals. I hope we used it in good and for helping other people. I never expected that we will now have successful lives. Never forget to look back where we’ve been first and thank God for all the blessing he gives us. Try our best to fulfill what we had promised to our pledge.
