Groceries ran out. Food ran out. Everything ran out.

after a quick douche, a dismissive snicker plastered on Aeri's face as she drifted around the undisturbed streets since she ran out of everything at home.

Stealing was already a habit for her to survive ever since she was 12, both her parents were extreme tormentors and she grew up experiencing severe mental and physical torture and suffered PTSD since the moment she's born.

Intrusive thoughts and images gnaws at her time to time and physical sensations torments her every time symbolic reminders of it crawls into her brain.

it was already midnight and she skimmed a bored eye into a back lane, she was riveted by a vision of some men hanging around inside. loud music blared from the speakers in the dark lane, circles of smoke simmered into thin air as a man languidly swaggered out with a cigaratte hung in his mouth, giving her a clearer look.

he eyed her contemptuously and burst into maniacal laughter as he tilted his head and spat the cigarate on the ground that was pooled by rain.

his profound features were illuminated by the dim street lamps and held a stoic expression with his eyes filled with void, reminding her of her psychotic father.

the girl anxiously swatted strands of her brown silky hair out of her face as she breathed heavily, feeling the memories kick in, she recedes slowly and eventually crashed her back on a stone wall. the man advanced towards the quivering girls that beamed at him with pleading eyes whilst he ran his veiny fingers over his slightly curly hair as he exhaled on her skin, cupping her chin and staring into her soul.

she lifted her nose subconsciously and got a whiff of second hand smoke. a whimper and cough escaped her ajar lip, fluttering her eyes close as a tear rolled down her cheek as she felt his breath close towards her neck.

he latched onto her tiny waist and trailed her cheeks, his other hand rubbing the side of his neck whilst scowling. she felt devastated and hopeless. she didn't know what to do, her waist throbbed from his strong grip and showed disinclination towards his actions.

she side eyed the hidden lane and held eye contact with a few men that ogled at her with lust. an insatiable smirk splayed across his profile seeing that he made her blood curdle.

his hands detached from her torso abruptly making her flinch from the searing pain felt on her skin. she was so jittery she didn't even notice and felt the cigrarte butts propelled on her collarbone.

Her hissing amplified while she palmed her wound, trying to alleviate some of the pain. her watery eyes glinted angrily as she gawked at the maniac walking back towards the dingy lane.

her breathing quickened and her heart faltered, trying to keep her legs standing as it weakened.

the feeble figure then wavered back towards her dilapidated apartment.

Back in the apartment, Aeri slammed the door open, keeping it ajar as she ushered herself onto the holey disrepair mattress and rooted herself in it.

Liberating a deep grunt, she dug her long fingernails from her forehead into her scalp and leant back, sounds of the pulsating of her heart repeating repetitively in her ears. As she forced her brown eyes open, she crouched on the ground and flailed her arms onto her disorganized rack filled with clutter whilse she held grasp of a box of cigarette, quickly unboxing it and placing it into her trembling lips lined with tears. Her mouth remained agape causing the cigarette to drop continually as she proceeded to search for her lighter.

The convulsion worsened while distress grew inside of her increasingly.

Soon, her arms thrashed onto a clear-coloured box placed below her pillow and caught the sight of her lighter.
