The room was filled with a low hum of chatter and clinking glasses, it was a pretty familiar environment for you, though you would have been happier staying at home in your comfy fluffy pajamas rather than being in this gorgeous but ridiculously uncomfortable cocktail dress.
Right now you really wanted to be home chilling, Thank God you didn't had to go for work tomorrow.

You took a quick sweep of the room taking a sip of the Chardonnay you were currently drinking leaning against the bar counter, trying to take a quick breather before getting thrown into another set of lengthy conversations with one of your father's guests. Being the only daughter of the most promising candidate running for senator for this upcoming term you had to meet officials and businessmen right and left, always having to smile and making small talk. You tried to relish this alone time before someone called for you again.
You were about to order another glass when there's a small tap on your shoulder, "Your father is asking for you Ara." You didn't even have to turn around to face the person to know who it was.
"Really Jin oppa, I just talked to that stuffy old guy in the corner for like 20 minutes and God! Did he like to talk!" You exclaimed.
"I know, I was watching. That guy did like to talk about his business a lot, no wonder his wife left him." He replied with a chuckle.
"You know you are my bodyguard, you should have saved me from that hellish conversation."
"I'm supposed to save you from any bodily harm or death like situations, not small talk with old businessmen." He replied with a small chuckle.
"That was a death like situation, I was dying of boredom!" You whined and he just laughed at your pouty expression.
You were used to these silly conversations with Jin oppa as you two were always together and loved being goofy. He was appointed as your bodyguard six months ago when your father received an anonymous threat against your life in his office mail. You were not too thrilled about the idea of having someone follow you around all the time and did try to refuse, but a stern word from your father had made you go along without any objections. At first you just ignored him and acted as if he was just a mere driver appointed to escort you everywhere, but gradually, after some small talk and getting stuck with a flat tire in the middle of nowhere had got you two talking more, and then discovering both of your common interest in your love for food, a close friendship had been formed. To be honest, Jin felt like a caring older brother to you.
"Seriously though Ara, you should go before your father gets angry." Jin said as he urged you to go towards the direction where your father stood. You hummed in a reply and stepped forward.
As you approached your father you could see he was talking to someone but couldn't decipher who the person was as the individual had his back to you. Not wanting to interrupt their conversation, you stood a little to the side.
