Y/N POV

"Niki, love, are you almost ready?" I call up the stairs to my girlfriend, my voice echoing up the stairway.
"Almost!" she calls back as she rushes down the stairs, her dress flowing behind her. The baby pink silky dress, embroidered with strawberries, outlines Niki's beautiful frame.
"You look stunning, love," I tell her and her cheeks dust pink. She smiles upon seeing my button-up shirt with a matching pattern, and I take her hand.

Eventually we arrived at our date venue of choice: a stretching field covered in flowers. Daisies, tulips, and other plants of varying species blanketed the rolling hills, the splatterings of color shining in stark contrast to the pale blue sky and icy white clouds. A short distance from the road sat a cherry blossom tree, its blush pink petals being carried away by the gentle breeze. Niki gasps with delight upon seeing the beautiful scene.
"Y/N, this is beautiful," she murmurs.
"Not as beautiful as you," I remark, smirking at her flustered expression. "Come on, love, let's go!"
Niki and I take off across the rolling fields, hands intertwined, giggling as we run to the shade of the cherry blossom tree. Once we reach it, I lay down the pink and white checkered picnic blanket and sink to the ground. I sit with my back leaning against the tree, while Niki leans against me, burying her head in my chest. Her arms wrap loosely around my shoulders, and as she drifts slowly off to a peaceful sleep, I whisper sweet nothings in her ear.
"I don't know how I got so lucky with you," I whisper into her ear. Half asleep, she kisses my neck softly. The warm heat of her breath lingers on my skin, and I rest my head on hers and slip into slumber as well.
