Summer's Golden Love

1. Finally Summer

"Three...two...ONE!" Beeeep, the alarm for the last bell goes off and school is finally out!
"Courtney! I can't believe I'm not going to see you all summer!" My friend Morgan says sadly
"I know, it's going to be so different without you at Big Mamas!" I say sadly but we laugh right afterward. Big Mamas is the name we made up for Caribbean Beach Bar, that's our job in the summer that we've worked at since we were 15 years old. She's going to stay in Florida this summer because her dad has to work there for a big promotion thing, so he decided to bring her with him.
"Well you have to tell me all about it next year at school." she says
"I will, I promise, and you have to tell me all about Florida too!" I say
"Ok I will too-"her dad drives up and honks his horn
"Well I guess I have to go, but I'll see you soon Courtney!" She says
We hug one last time before parting ways for the summer. She walks to her dads car and right before she gets in she yells after me and says"Don't have to much fun without me!" Haha I laugh "Impossible" I say to her smiling. She smiles back at me and gets inside the car and drives off.
I walk to my car outside the school entrance to get ready to go to my beach house. As I was walking I noticed a guy, Tyler I think was his name, staring at me very intently. I didn't know if he was trying to intimidate me or what, so I smiled and waved at him. He slowly waved back and walked off. Weird.

When I arrived at my beach house, I had a flash back of me and Morgan laughing on the balcony trying to see if we could get any boys to come join us, but they all said no. It was a miserable fail. Man, those were going to be the memories I'll miss not having with her this summer.
I found my key I his inside the swing on my front porch last year. I unlock the door and look inside."Well nothing's changed since last year." I say to myself.
Well of course except that Morgan wasn't going to be here. But I had to get over it and make my summer be as much fun as it would be with her, because this year is my last summer working here before I go to college next year.

I did bring a few other things that I had brought home with me from last year. I walk back outside to my car and get my box and my purse. I was walking back when I ran into someone, dropping my box and purse, with everything spilling out.
"Oh my I'm so sorry." he says picking up all my stuff and putting it back inside the box.
"Oh no it's totally....fine."he looked at me and I realized he's the same guy that was looking at me today after school. I decide not to mention the staring after school when I see hot freaking hot he was. Oh Lordy help me.
He then extended his hand for me to shake saying," Hey I'm Tyler Hayes...I don't think we've formally met. I expect him to finish with even though I've gone to the same school as you ever since we were kids but he didn't.
"Hey I'm Courtney Beller." I say stuttering my words then we let go of our shaking hands.
"Ya I know who you are." he says laughing.
"Really? I say surprised
"I think everybody at school knows who you are." he says smiling
"Umm I don't think EVERYBODY does that's a bit exaggerating don't ya think?" I say
"Nope...not at all." He says sarcastically
I decide to change the subject,"So what are you doing here?" I ask
"I'm working at Caribbean Beach Bar and I'm staying right here for the summer." he says pointing behind him. "You?" He asks
I was so shocked that he was my new partner for the summer.
"Oh I'm actually doing the same thing except I live right there." I say pointing to my right. Wow stating the obvious much Courtney..I say to myself
"Wow well looks like well be seeing each other a lot then." he says
"Yep looks like it." I say
Right then my-our boss, Big Mike, comes up and says," Tyler I got to show you all the rules and what your job will be this summer, so come with me for a little bit...Heyyy Courtney! It's nice to see you here already." he says to me
"Well I guess I never can get enough of this place." I say laughing, they both laugh too.
"Well I see you've met Tyler?" He asks
"Yes" I say
"Well good because he's gonna be your new partner and he'll be working all of the same shifts as you, so you'll need to help him out." he say bumping Tyler...they both smile
"Mmmmmk sure thing!" I say
"Can't be to hard can it?" Tyler says jokingly
"Well your fixing to find out so let's go...Bye Courtney I'll see you tomorrow at 8:00 in the morning bright and early!" Says Big Mike
"See ya!" I say. Tyler picks up the box and hands it to me and is fixing to say something but is interrupted, he closes his mouth, and Big Mike says,"Lets go Tyler!" He winks at me and runs after Big Mike.

I go to the beach house and start cleaning the place up a bit. When I'm done I take a shower and make my dinner. I take my dinner outside on the balcony and look at the sunset, enjoying this moment. I glance over and Tyler is staring at me smiling on his balcony.
"What? What are you staring at?" I ask probably blushing
" I don't know.... I think your a beautiful mystery waiting to be solved." he sash and walks back inside. Beautiful? He thought I was beautiful? No guy has ever said that to me before.
I finish my dinner and look out at the ocean."Beautiful" I say
