Third POV

After Uzumaki Naruto saved the whole village from Pain, he suddenly became liked. He wasn't scorned anymore, and people wouldn't throw rocks at him like when he was a kid. They loved the blond, never even remembering their cold and hateful words that they have thrown at the boy. No one dared to bring his past up, not wanting the reminder of their mistakes on neglecting the little innocent child who only ever wanted love and to be acknowledged.

But now, when he has saved everyone, he was the messiah. The future Hokage. The beacon of hope. The face of friendship. Not the reminder of the past, and mistaken to be the Kyuubi. He was acknowledged, like he always wanted.

No one would've ever believed is someone would've said the blond was sick or hurt. It was as if he was invincible, never hurting, never dying.

When Uchiha Sasuke came back after killing a certain Sannin, he wasn't welcomed very warmly at the beginning. But, yet again their most loved shinobi demanded a fair trial for his friend, so he would pay for what he's done, but not to be killed nor harmed in any way.

He stayed with the blond for months, as the trial that would deem the rest of his life went on.

The Uchiha had always liked the blond as a best friend. Sure, he was always in the way, making jokes and grinning like a fool, but Sasuke's stone cold heart had acknowledged him way before others had.

So, they were close. They ate together, trained together, and lived together.

And when the Uchiha's trial had been over, the elders along with the Godaime Hokage and the Shinobi council had decided to let Sasuke live in the village without any jail time. He was under a house arrest though, and his guard would be his best friend.

The time flew, and The Akatsuki moved on with Jinchuuriki hunting's, and Tsunade had to send Naruto away from the village to be safe.

The masked man called Madara had started a war with the Shinobi world, and the five Kage's formed an alliance between their forces.

As it turned out, the masked man wasn't Uchiha Madara, but rather Naruto's Sensei's old team mate and a friend, Uchiha Obito, who should've been dead.

The fight went on for weeks, straining all of the shinobis, and many had fallen. The two remaining Jinchuuriki's, Killer Bee from Kumogakure and Uzumaki Naruto from Konohagakure had escaped from their 'safe haven' and joined the fight.

They had been fighting well, but many lives were lost. One of them being Hyūga Neji, sacrificing himself over his cousin and Naruto.

Naruto meeting the dead Hokage's, along his father being one of them, they fought the threat that loomed over the whole world. Sasuke was also fighting on his friend's side, never once leaving the other.

When team seven had delivered the final punch, making the creature that was once Uchiha Madara, the Elemental Nations had been saved. Uchiha Obito now also long gone, the Edo Tensei's left the Alliance. Minato had been quite emotional over leaving his only son alone again. Naruto had assured his father that he wouldn't be alone, and Sasuke had promised Minato to always look after the Yondaime's son.

When the shinobis began to treat each other's wounds and heading towards their respective homes, Naruto had collapsed. His breathing had been hitching for some time, making the others worried, but the blond had told them to lay off and not to worry. He had been heaving and coughing, but Tsunade and Sakura being the only medical shinobis available had been so weak and drained, they couldn't help, nor examine the blond accurately.

After he had grabbed his chest with his hands, Sasuke knew something was seriously wrong. He called Naruto's name, only not receiving any kind of recognition for even hearing the words that left the raven's mouth.

"Naruto !" He had shouted. The said blond collapsed with a pained and weak cry and Sasuke had catched him to his arms.

"We need to hurry." Tsunade had said and Sasuke ran towards their home village, which wasn't that long way to go, The Hokage and her apprentice on his tail.

"Please let him be okay." He had whispered as thunder boomed and it started to rain. It was as if the sky was crying for the fallen hero.
