Aaliyah was headed to the pharmacy to receive her meds when her phone rung loudly. She picked it up to see it was Michael and sighed heavily.
"Michael." She answered.
"LiLi! Good morning," he smiled, feeling anxious to get to the point and retrieve an answer.
"Are the kids doing okay? We don't really have the random convos much anymore."
Michael laughed softly, "Oh the kids are fine. Just wanted to check in with you and see how you're doing. Is that bad?"
Aaliyah turned the corner and sighed, "Nah. Weird, but not bad. I'm doing okay though. I haven't been feeling too hot, so I may not be able to swing by and cook for the kids tonight. However, they are more than welcome to come over and have dinner at my mom's. She'd love to have them and cook for them."
"It's weird now that I want to make sure you're doing fine? That's odd, LiLi. You know I care a lot about you."
"Michael-"
"No, it's okay. I'm sure the kids would love to have dinner with your mom tonight. I'll see them off the truck after school and we'll be there no later than 6pm," he replied.
Just as she was about to speak, her other line buzzed. The number was not saved, but she decided to answer anyways.
"I'm sorry. Hold on, please?" She said as she placed Michael on hold and accepted the call.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Aaliyah. It's Stacey. I just wanted to call and let you know that your prescription is ready for pick up."
Aaliyah rolled her eyes, "You're joking right? I definitely see that I need to change pharmacies because you will not be handling anything for me while I'm pregnant! You or your crazy ass friend will not play behind my back again!"
Aaliyah ended the call and sighed heavily. She pulled to a stop sign.
"Hello? Michael?"
"Everything okay LiLi?"
Before she could respond, she drove on through the 4-way when a another car ran their stop sign and crashed into her car, tragically.
Aaliyah's head hit the window right after she yelled and dropped her phone. All you could hear coming from the phone on the ground is:
"LiLi! Hello?! LiLi are you okay? What's going on?"
Lisa staggered from her car, bleeding from her head. She held her head as she tried to walk to the other car with blurry vision and a massive headache. She realized it was Aaliyah behind the wheel and instantly screamed, bursting into tears as she yelled for help.
"Please! Someone help!" She snatched Aaliyah's door open and attempted to pull her out. She saw the phone on the ground, still tracking her length of time on the phone with Michael. Lisa's heart dropped when she noticed the heavy blood stain showing through Aaliyah's shorts.
"Oh no, no, no," she wept softly as she grabbed Aaliyah's phone and ended the call in order to call 911.
Lisa knew she would be in much trouble, especially if Michael and Aaliyah believed this was intentional.
