Once upon a time, in a Nigerian village. There lived a young man named, "Maly" and his papa owned the family farm. Sadly, Papa died due to a deadly disease a long time ago during Maly's childhood and now Maly has to look after his family farm and a important special crop for a family dinner and it was passed on to generations and generations. "Be right back Maly, we're going to the farmers market for some more stuff for the family dinner so keep a eye out on the special crop for us." Mama says to Maly.
"Ok I will ma!" Maly says waving goodbye to his family.
Maly kept his eyes on the crop so it will stay there and be safe and sound.
A mysterious man sneaked behind the fence of the farm and saw the crop and thought, "This special rare crop, is just what I needed so I'm not jealous of everyone anymore!". The man was in prison for stealing fruit from other villagers a few months ago and used to be great but now poor. He overheard Maly's friends talking about a family dinner at his farm house and stuff like that.
"Let us make a deal young man, I will promise to give you a whole stash of rare crops for free if you hand over that special crop to me. Deal?" The mysterious man asked Maly.
Maly knew firstly that this random man is not lying for sure!
And he seems friendly and nice, and Maly thinks that this man promises him.
So Maly handed the crop over to the man, "Now please give me that stash of crops you promised to give me" Maly says to the man.
But the man said:
Maly could not believe that this man tricked him into giving him the special rare crop? He and the man chased each other.
"Give me my crop back please!" Maly hollered out to the Man. The man said back, "Then try and-" Before the man can finish his sentence, Marissa aka Maly's sister, Came and saw the 2 men chasing each other.
"What is going on?" Marissa hollered out to the 2 men.
The man was startled and gave the crop quickly back to Maly and ran off.
"I'm so sorry my family, I thought I could trust this man" Maly apoligized to his family.
"It's okay son since you still had the crop now let's go inside for dinner, if someone or any of us saw a person we never trust. Don't give him or her anything then!" Mom said.
