Sorry I don't write all that much, I don't always have a lot of inspiration or motivation but I still hope you like it. Plus sometimes I don't have a lot of time.

This one's a bit more of a gory/sad one so if you don't like that, you can skip it. If you do or aren't bothered by it, read on. I won't force you to do anything, it's your choice.

Enjoy, and thank you for reading.

Approaching the gate, we wait to hand in our tickets as the gatekeeper comes up to the door. After taking them and making sure they’re not fakes, he opens the gate for us to enter. Once we are in, we’re greeted by a zookeeper type person who tells us his name is Danny, but we can call him Dan if we want. He explains that he’s the guide and will be the one driving us around. While we walk, he informs us of what animals live there and how this place works, it’s basically a drive-through zoo. Coming up to a tall fence with netting at the top, Quin notices Lemurs and runs over, waiting for us at the gate. It doesn’t take long for us to catch up as we weren’t too far behind. Danny opens the gate for an exited Quin to enter, which they do, very quickly. We all go in and sit down, stroking the Lemurs that approach us. Ryan seems to be popular as they sit on his lap, shoulders and one on his head. He lets out a small chuckle as they jump off him and crawl to another zookeeper who, this time, has food. I get up and tell the others that we should probably move along. Quin frowns but agrees, bending down to stroke a Lemur that runs past their feet. We all wander over to a safari-like van and climb in the back while Danny hops in the driver-seat. He asks us if we’re ready and looks in the rear-view mirror to see us all look at each other and nod. The van rumbles and shakes a little as he starts the engine and pulls away. We drive through a gate into the first enclosure and find that in less than 30 seconds, there’s Monkeys on the van. Good thing there’s plastic covers on the wing-mirrors. Going through into the second enclosure, Ryan spots a baby Giraffe running around on the other side of the field. In the third enclosure, there’s Ostriches chasing each other around. The fourth enclosure has Zebras lying in the grass under some trees to cool down in the shade. The fifth enclosure has Tigers playing on the on the climbing frame that was built for them. When we make it to the Lion enclosure, Ryan pitches the idea of opening the roof, we thought nothing of it so agreed. What could go wrong, right? He slouches as he stands to pull it open, the large, golden cats already striding over to us, stopping a few metres away. One stayed back where they originally were, Sceptical of what we were, staring at the van to try and figure out what we were doing there. Clearly new to the zoo. I cover myself with a blanket to hide away as I am afraid of Lions. Ryan stands up fully, exposing his head to the animals. The one further away stands up and sprints toward him, jumping on top of the vehicle and taking Ryan’s head in its jaw, crushing and killing him with one bite. Splattering blood everywhere like red freckles. They both fall in through the open space, spreading a crimson liquid all over the seats, the cougar continuing to pull him to pieces. I peek out of the blanket I’m hidden under as Quin lets out a shaky breath, catching the attention of the feline. Turning towards them and taking a hold of their leg, they scream and kick to try and pry its mouth off but its no use as it sinks its teeth into their skin and muscle. Their fighting distracts the puma long enough for me to reach my hand out grasp the door-handle and pull. Shoving open the door beside me, throwing parts of what used to be Ryan, now just chunks of bloody flesh, as far away from the van as I can to distract the blood-stained beast from tearing Quin’s leg apart. Screaming in pain as it turns towards the body parts I threw, tearing a chunk of their leg off in the process. The carnivore speeds past me, jumping out the open door and landing next to the body, devouring it after ripping it apart even more. The engine rumbles and turns on, the big cat clearly hearing it, whipping its head around to see a new person, a new potential victim. Making direct eye contact with me it slowly steps towards the van once more. Sprinting at me as I pull the door hard, just before the blood-drenched beast reaches us again, the door slams shut. Watching the huge bloody paws scratch at the window, I scream at Danny to step on it. He slams his foot on the gas, accelerating quickly while Quin cries out in pain. We reach the gate and wait for it to open. Quin tells me to let them out. Of course, I refuse to, I’ve already lost one friend, I don’t need to lose another. I look back out the window to see the feline sprinting full-speed at us. Quin pushes me to the front of the van. I sit there in shock as I didn’t know they were there. They open the door and set out as well as they can, closing the door behind them. I scramble over to the door, looking out the window as tears form in my eyes while I try to comprehend what the hell just happened. The gate finally opens and we get out of the enclosure, the gate closing quickly behind us, separating us from a sad, waving Quin and the crimson-covered beast. I place my hand against the window as tears begin to fall. I’m frozen, unable to do anything. The cougar catches up to them, knocking them over and tearing them apart. All I can do is silently scream and weep while banging on the window as I watch my best friend get devoured. I watch them fade as tears stream down my face. Leaning on the door, I slump over and curl into a ball, hugging my legs as I let out all my emotions. Screaming, crying, punching the seats, anything I can to try and express how I feel about everything that just went down. I think about what they would want me to do, say, think. I get the feeling that they would be happy at least one of the trio lived. At least one of us can get out of here, away from this nightmare...Or so I thought.
