Lan Sizhui stood beside a lake behind the hills at Gusu. Jin Ling had told him that he wanted to talk somewhere quiet and away from the hustle of the Cloud Recesses, and that place had immediately come to Sizhui's mind. Jin Ling had seemed so nervous, almost green as if wanted to puke.

Sizhui waited patiently for the boy with the vermillion spot to arrive, though a part of him wondered if the other boy had chickened out. But it had seemed as though it was something really important that Jin Ling wanted to talk about. Besides, Sizhui trusted him.

A few minutes later, just as Sizhui was considering sitting down, the sound of footsteps came from behind him. He turned and his heart stopped.

Jin Ling was striding towards him, with an air of confidence around him. Sizhui, however, could see right through the facade, and tell that Jin Ling was still very nervous.

But that wasn't what had made Sizhui's heart stop at all.

Jin Ling was wearing yellow robes as usual, but this set had the most intricate embroidery ever seen. The color naturally suited the boy and, with the details, he looked like a prince from the heavens.

As Jin Ling neared, Sizhui felt blood rise up to his face. He knew he probably looked like an idiot, blushing without a reason, but he had never really had the same amount of control over his emotions as Hanguang-Jun had.

Even if you love him, you can't show it. He might not be like you. Even if you love him, you can't show it. He might not be like you. Even if you love him, you can't show it. He might not be like you.

Sizhui chanted these lines over and over in his head, but it was of no use whatsoever.

"Hi." Jin Ling said.

"H-Hi." Sizhui scolded himself for stuttering mentally. "Is-is something going on? Is some sort of an event happening?"

"No."

"Then why are you dressed up?" Sizhui knew his questions sounded really rude, but he couldn't help his curiosity.

"For you."

"What?"

"I'm dressed up...for you."

Something inside Sizhui's heart exploded. A bat screeched endlessly in his chest at the mere thought of Jin Ling going to such lengths for him.

Jin Ling cleared his throat.

"I-I wanted to say that I-I really..." He paused.

"Seriously Jin Ling, you're even worse than your father." A voice said from nearby.

Both Jin Ling and Sizhui jumped in surprise. They whipped around to find Senior Wei stuttering down from a path that ended high up in the hills.

"When I saw your father confess to my sister, I thought I had witnessed the most slow and nervous confession that this poor planet would ever have to witness, but you proved me wrong."

Jin Ling's face was beet red from anger and embarrassment.

"WEI! WU! XIAN!" He yelled, sounding a lot like his uncle.

He put his hand at his sword, but Sizhui stopped him with a hand on his arm.

"You were going to...confess...to me?" He asked, not daring to believe that he had heard right.

"Y-Yes. I-I have feelings for you." Jin Ling muttered, so low that Sizhui almost didn't hear him. "That was what I wanted to tell you-"

Sizhui didn't know what he was doing. His hands reached for Jin Ling and his lips immediately crashed against the other boy's as he cut him off.

Jin Ling stood frozen. However, in just a few seconds, he was kissing Sizhui back. His hands slowly reached for Sizhui's waist. Sizhui's hands trembled as he held the other boy's face firmly in them and kissed him.

When they pulled away, Sizhui heard Senior Wei whistle.

"See, A-Ling? I had to help you here as well." The man said.

Sizhui hid his red face in Jin Ling's neck and called out to Senior Wei, though it was nothing polite.

"Go away, Senior Wei!" He yelled.

"Huh? A-Yuan? I'm wounded. I never expected this from you." The man said in a dramatic tone, though Sizhui could hear the smile in it.

Senior Wei went away, muttering about edgy teenagers. Sizhui didn't dare look up at Jin Ling, but continued to embrace him.

After sometime, the other boy spoke up.

"Do you...really return my feelings?"

Sizhui nodded, still not pulling away.

"I-I love you." He, Sizhui, said it very quickly.

Jin Ling seemed to have frozen again. Sizhui looked up at him, to find him staring down as if Sizhui had just told him at that Lan Xichen had been found doing naked cartwheels in the hallways.

"Really?" He said after a while. Sizhui nodded.

A sudden eruption seemed to have occurred within Jin Ling. His face immediately broke into a wide grin, and his arms around Sizhui tightened.

"I love you too!" Jin Ling said.
