A silence of disbelief took the Sendai City Gymnasium by storm. It was happening all over again. Karasuno versus Date Tech was becoming highly one-sided as the scores begin to drastically differ.

Karasuno vs Date Tech
23 – 7

The sound of a whistle blew through the whole venue in a fleeting manner. It was the signal that started service. At Karasuno's side, the ball was hurled up perfectly into the air with a beautiful topspin. The guy responsible for the serve toss implemented a 3-step footwork towards the end line. He jumped into a spiking form thereafter, pulling his right arm back and strongly swinging forward to spike the ball with all his might.

It launched in a swift manner towards Date Tech's player #3, Takehito Sasaya. The guy tried to bump the ball up with all his might after getting in its way. But he lamentably failed in doing so as the object flew off into the far distance and up the stands, making someone from the spectator's area catch it on reflex and surprise. "Karasuno's ruthless.. Just how many points is he going to take by himself?!"

...

"Y/N, give us another good serve!!", "One more nice serve, Y/N-san.", "Better not fail this one, Y/N! Or I'll kick your ass!", "Y/N! You can do it!!!" Daichi, Hinata, Nishinoya, and Kinoshita encouraged, one after the other. A smirk just formed on your face, holding the ball with both hands while awaiting the next signal whistle for service.

*WHISTLE BLOW*

The ball was thrown in a lofty height, while effortlessly killing the spinning motion of the ball. You executed the same 3-step footwork and harshly swung your left arm to blast the ball over with your palm. The object shakily travelled swiftly. Indecisive on how it'll land, the ball swerved to the right, making Date Tech's receivers go after it. But in spite of all their efforts, the object in motion made a quick change went to a left swerve, completely fooling the receiving team as it hit the ground with a thud.

A shrill coming from a whistle sounded, and a flag aimed downwards was announced. Just like that, Karasuno earned another point—which was the Set point.

24 – 7

...

The members of Karasuno's Volleyball Team for Girls all watched from the stands in pure awe. "Amazing.. It's our set point against Dateko.." Yui was astonished to say the least. Her eyes were very wide open, feeling saudade over the fact that her team lost in the first preliminary match for the Inter-High, but her male friends were effortlessly winning.

Y/N P.O.V

A shaky sigh left your lips, sitting on the bench with a towel slung over your neck. Apparently, Date Tech had to call for a final time-out, somehow for the purpose of breaking your focus. "How are you holding up, Y/N?" Keishin Ukai asked in concern, observing you breathe heavily at a frightening pace.

Y/N: "I'm doing.. fine.. just, a little.. tired.. that's all.." You lied, looking down the ground, eyes filled with struggle. It was taking everything you had, physically and mentally to not just pass out and fall asleep. In fact, you've long past your normal limits to the point where it has become detrimental.

'Switching serves and momentum every now and then.. is sapping my energy and stamina at an alarming rate.. unlike having to do a constant routine where your body just gets used to the action being performed.. switching services at random and in an inconsistent manner is straining my body more than what you'd think.. I'm tired.. really, tired..'
